Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the post above. The Groundsman/ Caretaker will report to the Campus Administrator.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all minor maintenance tasks are completed within the buildings for example, door handles, shelves, roof leaks, plumbing and electricals.
- Ensure good upkeep of external areas and campus grounds.
- Opening up of buildings and closure of buildings daily.
- Mowing lawns and trimming hedges.
- Watering plants, lawns and floor beds.
- Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching and applying pesticides.
- Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment.
- Scheduling specialty services such as ground leveling or patio installation.
- Ordering supplies and equipment.
- Performing any other related tasks that may be assigned by the Campus Administrator from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 5 O’ level passes including English Language.
- Certificate in any of the following areas, plumbing, brick laying, painting and decoration, carpentry, and electrical maintenance will be an added advantage.
- At least one year relevant experience as Caretaker/Groundsman.
- Awareness of health and safety procedure.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Performing any other related tasks that may be assigned by the Campus Administrator from time to time.
