Dynamos head coach Lloyd “Mablanyo” Chigowe has pledged to build a strong squad to challenge for titles. This comes after a player exodus during the current off-season.

Chigowe, previously the assistant coach, took over from Genesis Mangombe in mid-2024 after Mangombe’s departure to Scotland.
Since his appointment, the 60-year-old coach has led 20 games across all competitions. The Glamour Boys ended the season on a high note.
During that period, the team won 10 games, drew five, and lost five, giving Chigowe a 50% win ratio.

Dynamos, having fallen out of the championship race long ago, find themselves 19 points behind the leaders.

Dynamos enters the Harare derby after suffering two consecutive league defeats against rival teams CAPS United and Chicken Inn.
The match was originally scheduled for last month but was postponed due to Dynamos’ commitments in the CAF Confederations Cup against Botswana’s Orapa United. Said Chigowe:

It will be difficult to lift the boys after this, but that’s our job we will go back and talk to them so that we can challenge in other competitions.

Success invites a lot of pressure. The fact that we are still in the Confederation Cup means we have piled up fixtures going forward but we will try to work as scientifically as possible in terms of recovery management.

But we have to go over it. Hopefully, the mother body (ZIFA) and the PSL will look into the fixture congestion.

Armed Police Intervened To Stop DeMbare Violence At Rufaro

Belgian coaches Billian Valery Jozef and goalkeeper specialist, Beelen Dirk Lode, arrived at Dynamos on Wednesday.
They are expected to be in the country until April.
They visit is part of an exchange programme that is likely to see Dynamos technical team, led by Lloyd Chigowe, traveling to Belgium.
Dynamos vice-chairman, Moses Shumba revealed that the programme is part of the club’s strategy to reposition itself. Shumba said:
<blockquote>This is part of the new Dynamos leadership’s efforts to reposition the club and create synergies with Europe. We should prepare a comprehensive media release tomorrow (today). They are top-notch coaches who have coached in Belgium, Hungary and Cote d’Ivoire.</blockquote>
The guests have so far been assisting the technical department with drills ahead of Dynamos’ premier soccer league match with Chicken Inn at Barbourfields on Saturday.
A number of Dynamos players are currently available for selection for the weekend match due to injuries.
