Australia’s Invictus Energy has raised A$25 million ($17.2 million) to fund the initial oil drilling campaign in Zimbabwe’s Cabora Bassa basin.
The company announced this Wednesday that the money was raised through a private placement. NewZimbabwe.com cites Invictus as saying:

Following the assessment of a range of options, including farm-in bids from multiple interested parties, Invictus’ board and management elected to sole fund the initial stages of the company’s high-impact drilling campaign, which will target the Mukuyu and Baobab prospects.

The company said Mukuyu-1 well drilling will cost A$10mn and Baobab-1 will cost A$13.5mn.
Drilling across all seven stacked targets is anticipated to take 45 – 60 days to complete.
Invictus said civil works have started at the Baobab-1 wellsite to ensure drilling can follow immediately after the completion of Mukuyu-1. The drilling of Baobab-1 is estimated to take approximately four weeks to complete, following the mobilisation of Exalo Rig 202 to the well site.

Australia's Invictus Energy Raises $17.2 Million For Oil Drilling Campaign In Zimbabwe

The first shipment for the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Muzarabani">Muzarabani</a>, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Mashonaland_Central">Mashonaland Central Province</a>, oil and gas drilling rig has arrived in Zimbabwe. 
The equipment that is coming in batches arrived Tuesday morning. Twenty trucks carrying the components are on their way to Muzarabani after leaving Mutare this afternoon.

<a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2022/07/05/zimbabwe-oil-drilling-expected-to-commence-in-august-2022-invictus/">Prospective drilling</a> that was initially set for June after <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2022/03/18/muzarabani-oil-invictus-sign-agreement-with-exalo-for-drilling-campaign/">the Exalo Rig 202</a> was mobilised from Songo Songo Island in Tanzania to Cabora Bassa has now been set for August.
The postponement is attributed to customs clearance delays for the drilling rig in both Tanzania and Mozambique.
Invictus, the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX)-listed company that is prospecting for the resource, says the development marks a 2.7-fold increase on a barrel of oil equivalent basis to the 2019 independent assessment by Getech Group plc, which estimated 8.2 Tcf and 247 million barrels (1,6 billion boe) of conventional gas condensate.

1st Shipment For Muzarabani Oil & Gas Drilling Rig Arrives In Zimbabwe

Invictus Energy Limited (IEL) has confirmed potential natural gas and crude oil deposits in Zimbabwe.
IEL says the processing and reprocessing of data around the Cabora Bassa project has shown signs of hydrocarbons, confirming potential natural gas and crude oil deposits.
Last year, IEL conducted a 2D Seismic Survey of the Cabora Bassa area, located in the northern part of Zimbabwe, as part of its exploration into the area to find potential gas and oil deposits.
This is because the Cabora Bassa project encompasses the Mzarabani prospect, a multi-trillion cubic feet and liquid-rich conventional gas-condensate area. IEL said in a statement:

The acquisition and data processing of the CB21 survey, along with the reprocessing of 1990 Mobil survey data has achieved the objectives of providing a high quality, comprehensive 2D dataset which is contractor-consistent and process-consistent.
The parameters employed for the acquisition of the CB21 survey, along with modern data processing technology have significantly elevated the data quality to a high standard.
As the interpretation is progressing, multiple anomalies have been noted in the basin’s seismic data.
These can often be indicators for the presence of hydrocarbons.
These anomalies will be investigated with additional data processing products produced by Earth Signal Processing.
Their geophysical signature, as well as trapping geometry and position (structurally and stratigraphically) will then be evaluated.
This will allow the anomalies to be assessed and ranked to ascertain the likelihood of viable hydrocarbons within a definable trap.

The data processing of the 2021 Cabora Bassa 2D Seismic Survey and concurrent reprocessing of a legacy Mobil dataset has largely been completed by onshore high-resolution data specialists, Earth Signal Processing in Calgary, Canada.
Invictus managing director Scott Macmillan said the drilling campaign is scheduled to commence in June 2022, which will be crucial in determining the quality and quantity of oil or gas found in the area.

Invictus Energy Confirms Potential Natural Gas, Oil Deposits In Zimbabwe

Invictus Energy Limited on 24 March said it had received firm commitments from new and existing investors to raise A$8m (eight million Australian dollars), equivalent to US$6m via a share placement.
The Australia-listed firm said the funds will be used for the SG 4571 seismic acquisition campaign in Zimbabwe and the ordering of long-lead drilling items for the Muzarabani-1 exploration well. Invictus managing director Scott Macmillan said:
<blockquote>We are extremely pleased with the excellent support received from new and existing shareholders and it is a strong endorsement of our Cabora Bassa project and the exciting and world-class Muzarabani-1 prospect which the company is preparing to drill.</blockquote>
The company added that the placement funds will allow the company to start a 2D seismic acquisition campaign to refine the drilling targets in the stacked Muzarabani prospect and identify additional prospectivity in the SG 4571 permit.
Invictus Energy said it will also use part of the proceeds from the placement to order long lead drilling equipment and undertake a rig tender exercise.
The placement will also provide ongoing working capital to support the development of the project as the firm continues to prepare for a high-impact basin opening drilling campaign, anticipated in late 2021 or early 2022.
Invictus’s Cabora Bassa project, which comprises the Muzarabani and Msasa gas and condensate prospects, received environmental approval from the Environmental Management Agency (EMA) in August last year.
