Multi-award-winning Nigerian musician, Davido, has pocketed over US$400 000 after asking his fans to send him money as an appreciation for his hit songs.
In a tweet, the global music star asked his fans to send him money attaching his banking details. He said:

In less than 24 hours Davido had raised over N100 million starting a #showmeyourfriends challenge that is now trending on social media with music duo PSquare joining.
He went on to urge his fans to keep sending money adding that his aim is to raise N100 million to clear his brand new Rolls Royce at the port. He said:

Omo 7 m in 10 minutes keep goin!! I love y’all! AIM NAH 100m I wan clear my rolls Royce from port abeg.
</blockquote>
In an update posted around 1700hours on his Twitter account, he claimed that he had pocketed over N174 million.

Davido Raises US$400K From Fans' Donations

Zimbabwean born South African based musician King 98 has collaborated with Tanzanian star Diamond Platinumz in a video titled Kachiri, which will debut on Trace Africa today, The Herald reports.
The video was shot in Tanzania and it will debut on YouTube by Friday. King 98’s spokesperson  Steven Tsikirayi spoke about the star, his collaboration with Tanzania’s superstar and the avenues the collaboration might open for the young musician and said:

King 98 has already written his own success stories on the continent and it was easy for Diamond Platnumz to work with him on the collaboration. 
The video will be on Trace Africa tomorrow (today) and it will be on YouTube on Friday. King 98 made the decision to fuse hip-hop and other African genres to create a beat that resonates with the Afro-fusion vibe.

King 98 Collaborates With Diamond Platnumz

South Africa’s Hip-hop star Nasty C is scheduled to perform in Harare on May 1. He will be part of Hip-hop musician King98’s Francesca album launch scheduled for Wingate Golf Club in Pomona. Nasty C performed at the same venue courtesy of Change a Life Concert last year.
On the May 1 event, Nasty C will share the stage with King98, Nigerian star Davido, ExQ, Nadia Nakai, Tammy Moyo, Shashl, Union 5 and DJ Silence Dosh. Francesca is King98’s mother hence some of the songs on the album in pipeline are dedicated to his mother.
Previously, Davido has collaborated with King98 on the song No Bad Vibes which was recorded sometime last year and the video was shot in Nigeria. King98 said he chose Hip-hop genre because that’s where he belongs.

Nigerian musician Davido has arrived in Zimbabwe for his 30 Billion tour. Davido arrived in the country on Thursday morning ahead of his show scheduled for Saturday 21 April at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
Davido is set to share the stage with Jah Prayzah, ExQ and Killer T, while Judgment Yard will be among the DJs. The ordinary ticket will be going for  $20 (ordinary) $50 (VIP) and $100 (VVIP). The tickets will be sold at Chicken Slice outlets, Coloursel and Liquor Boys Bar &amp; Butchery.
For those that want to be part of Genius Kadungure’s all white party the platinum package is going for $2 000 where the guests get alcohol worth $2 000 and five free tickets and a personal waiter. The gold package is $1 500 and comes with $1 500 worth of alcohol and three free tickets and a personal waiter as well while the silver package, going for $1 000, has $1 000 worth of alcohol and two free tickets and personal waiter.

Davido Arrives In Zimbabwe For 30 Billion Concert

American-born Naija music star Davido has apologised to his Zimbabwean fans for disappointing them in the past. He promised that he is indeed coming for a show scheduled for the 21st of April at the Harare International Conference Centre. The show is being organised by socialite Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure and 2 Kings Entertainment and has been titled Davido 30 Billion Concert. In a video Davido says,
<blockquote>It’s your boy Davido. I will be coming back to Zimbabwe for real this time. I wanna apologise to all the fans that have been waiting for me there. There have just been a little bit of some problems, but I will be live in Harare on the 21st of April live at the HICC. My brother Ginimbi is bringing me down. It’s gonna be crazy</blockquote>
Ginimbi confirmed the show saying,

Davido Apologises For Disappointing Zim In The Past, Promises That This Time Its Real

Jah Prayzah has announced that “My Lily” Concert scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled,. Nigerian artist Davido was billed to perform at the concert together with Jah Prayzah.
In an announcement on his Facebook page, Jah Prayzah said that the show has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond their control. The announcement reads:

Jah Prayzah And Davido Cancel "My Lily" Concert

Jah Prayzah’s manager Keen Mushapaidze has said that Nigerian superstar Davido is likely to perform in November after he missed out on the launch of Jah Prayzah’s Kutonga Kwaro album launch. Davido had some legal problems as he was questioned by the police regarding the death of his friend Tabgo Umeike. Police are still investigating the case.
Said Mashapaidze:
<blockquote>Davido is available on November 25, hence chances are high that he will come here to fulfil his aborted concert.
Negotiations are at an advanced stage with him but only few things need to be finalised. As of now we are banking on November 25</blockquote>

Davido likely to perform in November after missing out on Jah Prayzah's launch

Davido has released a statement distancing himself from any involvement in the death of his friend Tagbo Umeike. Davido was set to be in Zimbabwe today for Jah Prayzah’s Kutonga Kwaro album launch but will no longer make it after he was invited to assist with investigations.
On Wednesday, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said an autopsy revealed that Umeike had died of suffocation, and that Davido had instructed two of his friends to “abandon” Umeike’s body in front of General Hospital, Lagos Island. Imohimi also claimed that hospital footage showed a white car owned by Davido near the hospital on the night of Umeike’s death.

Davido releases CCTV footage & statement on friend's death

Davido will no longer be performing alongside Jah Prayzah at his ‘Kutonga Kwaro’ album launch today. Davido is helping Nigerian police with investigations following the death of his crew member, Tagbo Umeike.
Jah Prayzah has since released a statement, you can read it below;

Jah Prayzah releases press statement on Davido

Popular Nigerian musician Davido, born David Adekeke  was arrested on Wednesday over the death of Tagbo Umeike, his friend. This means that the Nigerian artist will no longer be coming to Zimbabwe for Jah Prayzah’s album launch on Friday.
Davido has denied any connection with the death of his friend who was dumped in a Toyota Camry car in front of the Lagos Island General Hospital by Davido’s staff, Tunde and Agbaje. The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, ordered that Davido to be invited again for further questioning. Said Edgal:
<blockquote>Investigation conducted into the incident clearly showed that one Tunde Yusuf, the driver of Davido’s escort vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux, accompanied by one Agbaje Olaoye and one Idris Busari –both Davido’s friends – took the deceased to the general hospital and abandoned him in his (Tagbo) vehicle on the instruction of Davido.
“The CCTV footage at the general hospital picked up the white Hilux vehicle and captured the entire activities. The vehicle was subsequently recovered from Davido’s residence at No. 7 Awosika Street, Lekki Phase 1. The driver and the two friends are with the police.
“These new revelations completely debunked Davido’s claim that he did not know how the deceased got to the general hospital. For these reasons, I have instructed the DPO and the IPO to again invite Davido and question him in line with the new findings.
“It is our intention to know why the victim was dumped in the hospital and those who took him there fled without notifying the hospital authorities or the police.
As I speak to you Davido is currently with the DPO and the investigating team. The preliminary autopsy report revealed that the victim died of asphyxia, which in layman’s term, means suffocation.</blockquote>

Bad news for Jah Prayzah fans, Davido arrested

In an interview with The Chronicle, musician Jah Prayzah said the two singles Sendekera and My Lily will not be on his upcoming album “Kutonga Kwaro” which will be launched on October 13 in Harare then Bulawayo the following day.
Said Jah Prayzah:
<blockquote>My Lilly and Sendekera will not be included on the album as those songs were singles. However, the artistes I worked with on those tracks will be there at the album launch so people will have an opportunity to watch us perform together live.</blockquote>
Tracks on the album include; Ndin’ndamubata – a party song, Chengetedza, Emerina and Muchinjiko. Questioned if the album would feature local or international collaborations, Jah Prayzah said they were still mastering the album and had not yet concluded which tracks would be put.

Jah Prayzah continues his quest to take Zimbabwean music to the African continent. The musician is now eyeing a duet with Nigerian star Davido. Jah Prayzah has not given details about the duet, although he confirmed it on Youtube last month.
The Zimbabwean star has already done collaborations with some of Africa’s biggest stars such as Mafikizolo of South Africa and Diamond Platnumz of Tanzania.
