A Mutoko couple committed suicide following a dispute over an extramarital affair, with the wife hanging herself first and then the husband after her body was discovered.
The two, who were at their place in Kumbure 1 Village, engaged in an ugly dispute after the husband Peter Muhamba (50) accused his wife, Nyasha Chinake (44), of dating his cousin.
Chinake then bolted out of the house and never returned, but her body was found the following day, hanging from a tree near their house.
The Herald was told that when Muhand heard that his wife had died, he went to their bedroom, took a rope and hanged himself.
His body was discovered later by the same neighbours who had helped him to search for his wife.
The incident was confirmed by Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Simon Chazovachii who said the incident happened on Thursday last week at around 4 pm. 
He said Chinake was at home with her husband who accused her of having an extramarital affair with his cousin Matambanadzo Mhuru (39). He said:

The wife ran out of the house, but the husband did not follow her.
Later, the husband alerted his neighbours that he had a misunderstanding and his wife ran out of the house and never returned.
The neighbours assisted him in a search in the neighbourhood, but they could not find her. The following day, Mandaza Muhamba (58) found the body of the wife hanging on a tree, about a kilometre from her home.

Muhamba is said to have gone home and hanged himself from a roof beam with a rope.
The matter was reported by the village head at Makosa Police Station and the police attended the scene.
Chazovachii appealed to the public to always solve their misunderstandings peacefully, and value the importance of life.

Couple Commits Suicide Over Extramarital Affair Dispute

Sean Mnangagwa, one of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s twin sons has been spotted driving an expensive Rolls Royce.
Pictures emerged on Sunday of Sean – a soldier – apparently collecting the expensive vehicle from a bonded warehouse at the Boka Tobacco Auction Floors.
The US$360 000 car is believed to have been imported from South Africa. Including customs duty, the Rolls Royce Dawn would have cost in excess of US$500 000.
An associate of Sean on Sunday told ZimLive that the vehicle was not his, claiming instead that its owner is the gold dealer Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya.
The person, however, could not explain why Mnangagwa’s son went to collect the car.
Sean and his twin brother, Collins, have been linked to tender corruption involving the procurement of medical supplies which led to the arrest and removal from office of former health minister Obadiah Moyo, claims which they have denied.

Jam Tree, a top local restaurant that is based in Harare, has denied reports of racism at the Mt Pleasant eatery. This comes after a black couple was reportedly attacked racially by a white manager.
Nyari Munda, a Harare man who was allegedly attacked wrote a long complaint exposing the abuse he suffered at the hands of an unnamed white manager. Taking to Facebook Nyari wrote;

Yesterday my wife and I went to get food at this establishment (Jam Tree), and on getting there, we asked if we could park in the back car park by the golf course whilst we wait for our food. The waiter told us it was okay and we should park in the usual spot.
We drove there and parked on the grass literally three metres away from the owner’s car. There was a gardener there watering the grass and he didn’t seem to have an issue with where we parked.
To my surprise, this white South African guy (the owner), came from nowhere and started yelling at us for parking on wet grass. The guy called us dumb, stupid and all sorts of derogatory words.
I urged him to communicate properly since we are regular customers of over 8 years, and we are here to promote his business. He jumped right back into a crazy fit and said we don’t need people like you supporting my business.
The guy was so heated at some point I thought he wanted to fight me. He kept pulling crazy faces, taunting me, storming away then coming back as if he’s about to fight. Once again I kept calm and watched this mad man talk to us like we are worthless.
I apologised again and cautioned him to address clients nicely but he wouldn’t have it and started with the insults again. He then stormed into Jam Tree, where we heard him yelling at the workers at the top of his voice.
Soon after the waiters including the chef rushed to the car park and started apologising on this guys behalf. They begged us to stay but at this point, we were fed up. Even the gardener was shocked at this guy’s conduct but he just watched in amazement.
He openly shouts at his workers in front of guests and uses a lot of racist derogatory statements. A year and half ago the same guy told me to f*** off when I complained about my meal. I threatened to go to social media and he said ‘it’s people like you we don’t want here’…
He has no respect and he thinks this is South Africa. The workers always look terrified when he’s around and he talks to them like dogs. Jam Tree was a better place before this new management took over.
After 9 years of being a loyal client, I don’t think I’ll ever go back there again.”

Jam tree issued a statement apologizing to Nyari and his wife. They confirmed that the incident did happen but denied that it was a racist attack.
Jam Tree’s apology statement, however, backfired as some social media users accused the restaurant of being overly racist adding that Jam Tree operated a whites-only secluded section where blacks are barred from accessing.
Some went as far as advocating for the posh restaurant to be cancelled. We present Jam Tree’s statement.

The Jam Tree Restaurant Issues Statement On Racism Reports

Another Masvingo Police Officer has allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide following a domestic dispute in which he allegedly suspected infidelity.
Sgnt Elias Kutsira who worked in the Police Armoury Section and stayed by Zimuto Camp died at Masvingo Provincial Hospital Tuesday afternoon.
His death comes barely a week after another Masvingo police officer, Kennedy Mange, committed suicide by hanging himself in Victoria Ranch.
The Mirror was told that Kutsira committed suicide after a domestic dispute in which he allegedly suspected infidelity.
Masvingo Provincial Police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa said he was not aware of the issue.
However, sources told the publication that the deceased took poison on Monday and died On Tuesday.
Kutsira allegedly left his home on Monday and threatened not to return only to come back on Tuesday after taking the alleged pesticide and was rushed to hospital where he died.

Another Masvingo Police Officer Commits Suicide

West Property Company has dismissed reports that suggest that musician Jah Prayzah and Star FM Disc Jockey Kudzai Violet Gwara better known as KVG had received stands or properties from the company on an outdated leasehold title.
In our previous article, we reported that one Dr Controlla Gabi had suggested that the company was selling its plushy Pokugara Estate houses using an outdated concept which is being phased out in the United Kingdom.
Gabi said Pokugara Properties was using a “Leasehold” arrangement, which means that when one buys a property, the ownership of the land remains in the hands of the seller and attracts monthly rentals. West Property speaks in response to that article. See below.

West Property Speaks On KVG, Jah Prayzah Fancy Homes

Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport, Art and Recreation Tinoda Machakarika, also known as Tinomudaishe Machakaire, has responded to media reports claiming he recently bought a Rolls Royce Phantom worth £330 000.
In a post on his Facebook page, Machakarika said he felt constrained to set the record straight after the issue was widely discussed on social media platforms, particularly Twitter.
The Wedza South MP challenged Zimbabweans with a huge social media following to use their presence on the platforms for the greater good instead of gossiping. Pindula News is publishing Machakarika’s post in full, below:
<blockquote>I have seen with concern several stories making rounds on various social media platforms particularly Twitter. Ideally, I would have kept quiet and let time reveal all truths. However, I feel I owe it to you my constituents to set some records straight.
First and foremost no respectful lawyer and or journalist conducts investigations or trials on social media. It solves and achieves nothing. I would have been impressed had they gone to the public with the results of a thoroughly researched investigation.
Secondly, it is true, I do have the capacity to buy the car in question and more. In my entire life I have never applied for a Government tender or wish to have one. My business covers the whole of Southern Africa with Regional Contracts.
Third, as I mentioned before no meaningful investigation was ever conducted on social media. If there are any queries or questions regarding my source of income, feel free to approach the relevant offices.

"I Can Afford A Rolls Royce And More", Machakarika Responds To "Keyboard Warriors"

The Government of Germany, through the German Federal Foreign Office, has contributed EUR 3 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Zimbabwe to support highly vulnerable communities struggling to meet their basic food needs amidst the 
COVID-19 pandemic. This is part of a EUR 18 million contribution by Germany to Southern Africa for 2021-2023.
This contribution will be used to improve access to food and ensure that <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Ministry_of_Public_Service,_Labour_and_Social_Welfare">vulnerable women</a>, men, girls and boys, including refugees, consume an adequate and nutritious diet in times of need, particularly during the lean season.
Chargé d´affaires / Deputy Ambassador for German Embassy Harare Christian Oelfke said this contribution will help those who need support most. He said:
<blockquote>As part of the Federal Republic of Germany´s worldwide efforts to mitigate the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic we are extending a helping hand to the Zimbabwean population with this contribution. The pandemic has exacerbated the food security situation which has been strained for large parts of the population in the past few years. We hope that our contribution will help to temporarily alleviate the plight of vulnerable groups.</blockquote>
WFP Zimbabwe Country Director and Representative Francesca Erdelmann said this contribution comes at a time when many are finding it increasingly difficult to put food on the table because of COVID -19. She said:
<blockquote>The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected Zimbabweans, as restrictions implemented to curb the spread of the virus have resulted in the loss of livelihoods and household income. Most of Zimbabwe’s urban population relies heavily on informal sector livelihoods, its closure during the lockdown period has had a detrimental impact on levels of urban food insecurity. While the agriculture season witnessed an improved harvest from the previous years, some areas still needs support to see them through the peak hunger period.
Refugees at Tongogara Refugee Camp will struggle to make ends meet as they depend on WFP for assistance. This contribution from Germany will go a long way in assisting these vulnerable groups that need help the most.</blockquote>
According to the 2020 Urban Livelihoods Assessment, 2.4 million urban dwellers, or 42% of the total urban population in Zimbabwe, are estimated to be food insecure. While the rural livelihoods assessment estimates 2.9 million that is approximately 27% of the rural households will be food insecure during the peak of the lean season (Jan-March 2022).
WFP assists 326,004 people across 23 urban domains until the end of this year, with monthly cash-based transfers via e-voucher and Western Union remittance exchange. Beneficiaries receive USD 12 per person, per month to help meet their basic food needs. Presently WFP is assisting more than 13 500 refugees and through the Lean Season Assistance, we aim to support 1 million people at the peak of the lean season.

Germany Donates EUR 3 Million For Vulnerable Communities In Zimbabwe

A red flag has been raised over the deals that got top musician Jah Prayzah, and Star FM Disc Jockey Kudzai Violet Gwara better known as KVG fancy homes in Borrowdale.
Jah Prayzah and KVG were recently pictured at red carpet ceremonies being handed over keys to their newly acquired properties at Pokugara Estate in the leafy suburb of Borrowdale in Harare.
However, one Dr Controlla Gabi, questions the type of lease agreements being offered by the Kenneth Raydon Sharpe owned company Pokugara Properties.
Dr Gabi is of the view that Pokugara Properties might be selling its plushy Pokugara Estate houses using an outdated concept which is being phased out in the United Kingdom.
Gabi said Pokugara Properties was using a “Leasehold” arrangement means that when one buys a property, ownership of the land remains in the hands of the seller and attracts monthly rentals.
Leasehold also has a tenure period and once it expires the ownership of the property reverts to the original owner.
In a five threaded Twitter response to West Properties post about KVG acquiring a new home at Pokugara Estate, Gabi said he was worried about the Pokugara Estate leasehold arrangement which he said was an eternal debt trap. He said:
<blockquote>Congratulations KVG. I hope they gave you a fair contract for the property. I have raised the issue of leaseholds @WestPropZim have introduced in Zim whereby the property buyer doesn’t own the land their property is on. Haven’t responded. Star FM hasn’t commented either.
It’s unclear how much legal protection buyers have against the legal jeopardy of leaseholds. You’d think developers would be transparent about this. It’s worrying that, with the brand ambassadorships being issued to celebrities, scrutiny disappears with conflict of interest.
Leaseholds are an eternal debt trap. Homeowners will continue to pay rent on the land their house is built on. It’s been a controversial scheme here in the UK.
With a leasehold, you’ll always pay rent on the land on which your home is built. There must be an option to buy the land or just rent to buy the land which shd give ownership of the land at some point. With no legal protection, land rent will go up or change hands. Uncertainty
Although unlikely, it is possible that, in a leasehold agreement, the price of the lease may end up being unaffordable. It’s unclear what will happen in such circumstances. Would you lose your property, for example? Star FM must facilitate this discussion on their programmes.</blockquote>

Flag Raised Over KVG, Jah Prayzah's New Fancy Homes

Two middle-aged men from Kenya are alleged to have mutually agreed to exchange their wives as a way of settling their differences.
Josh Odour and Sakis from Busia County in western Kenya traded wives and their kids after Sakis and Odour’s wife made their secret affair public.
KDRTV reports that Odour first heard rumours about the affair between his wife and Sakis.
He later went to Sakis’ house where he found his wife cleaning the dishes. There, the wife told him she had moved on with the Boda Boda operator.
In retaliation, Oduor is alleged to have lured Sakis’ wife who had gone back to her parent’s home and convinced her to get married to him and she agreed. Oduor said:
<blockquote>_I went to the Boda Boda rider’s home and found my wife washing utensils among other house chores._
_I asked her what she was doing there and she told me she had chosen to get married to the Boda Boda guy. I chose to trace the former wife of the Boda Boda rider and seduced her._
_We then agreed to marry and we even went to the police to inform them of our decision._</blockquote>
Neighbours applauded the two men for settling their disputes amicably.

Two Men Exchange Wives, Kids To Settle Differences

About a 7.9million Zimbabweans are reportedly living in extreme poverty following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic that worsened the economic crisis in the Southern African country.
According to the World Bank’s economic and social update report, almost half of Zimbabwe’s population fell into extreme poverty between 2011 and last year, with children bearing the brunt of the misery. Reads the report:
<blockquote>_The number of extreme poor is expected to remain at 7.9 million in 2021 amid continued elevated prices, and a slow recovery of jobs and wages in the formal and informal sectors._
_Given limited social safety nets for protecting the high numbers of poor, households are likely to turn to negative coping strategies_
_Poor households are likely to forgo formal health care as they are unable to pay for services and to keep children out of school to avoid education costs, such as school fees, uniforms and textbooks._</blockquote>
The pandemic added 1.3 million Zimbabweans to the numbers of extreme poor as jobs and income were lost in urban areas.
According to the World Bank, the “extreme poor” are defined as people living under the food poverty line of US$29.80 (£21) for each person a month.
Those living below this threshold doubled from 3 million in 2011 to 6.6 million in 2019, with higher numbers than ever recorded in rural areas.
Child poverty has risen exponentially around the country and humanitarian agencies are recording high levels of malnutrition and stunted growth.
<blockquote>_Due to economic and climatic shocks, poverty rose sharply, and extreme poverty reached 42% in 2019 – up from 30% in 2017. Nearly 90% of the extreme poor lived in rural areas, and 1.6 million were children._</blockquote>
The report comes as the Consumer Council of Zimbabwe (CCZ) has reported that the <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/06/21/cost-of-living-shoots-up-yonder-workers-salaries/">cost of living for 6 people has risen from $35 877 in April to $40 680 this month.</a>

The bank said twenty-three per cent of the poorest people who were working before Covid-19 had lost their jobs by June 2020 adding thousands to the unemployment numbers.
The bank, however, suggested that Zimbabwe could have an economic rebound in 2022 with a bumper harvest expected to ensure most rural families have enough to eat and leading the economy to 3.9% growth.

COVID-19 Pandemic: 7.9million Zimbabweans Now In Extreme Poverty

Some have said DNA tests to address the paternity issue should be mandatory adding that children must never be registered under the name of someone who is not their real father.
Responding to a video from the ZBC TV show “The Closure” a Zimbabwean version of the American “Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court” that address the issue of paternity, some said cases of fraud were on the rise.
Meanwhile, some said the show will give a heart attack to some men who have lived a lie for almost all their lives.

Zimbabwe was taken by storm recently when an unidentified granny’s voice note to her womanising grandson Abhero was leaked to social media.
The voice note, now referred to as <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Abhero_Mhoro">Mhoro Abhero</a> (greetings Abhero or Abel) attracted the attention of many mainly because of granny’s diction in trying to advise Abhero against impregnating women carelessly.
Pindula News made some research on why the granny could have used obscenities and observed that her diction was popular on such matters.
It is actually a norm that was being practised in old day Zimbabwe, a culture that might be slowly fading as the use of vulgar especially in the public is considered a taboo by younger generations.
Mhoro Abhero is not the only incident when a granny’s audio or video in which obscenities are shouted has circulated online. About a year or so ago, another unidentified granny was filmed speaking vulgar at a rain-making ceremony.
In fact, the use of vulgar was common for a number of events and or ceremonies including Mukwerera, the practice of asking for rain amongst the Shona of southern Africa.

Some respondents in a 2017 research by Shadreck Chirikure, Robert T. Nyamushosho, Herbert Chimhundu, Collet Dandara, Hamutyinei H. Pamburai and Munyaradzi Manyanga asserted that vulgar was used at Mukwerera. Reads part of the book:
Among the Manyika, some respondents noted the use of sexual or vulgar chants and erotic dances by older (menopausal) women and young (pre-adolescent) girls. This is aimed at ‘seducing’ the mhondoro to release the rains. Prominent dances include hoso, most popular among Kalanga, mafuwe (Korekore), as well as Ndau special dances such as muchongoyo, mbongo or chinyambera.
Among the Shona people, the use of obscenities was a preserve for a few especially the elderly and would be conducted in private.

Mhoro Abhero - Granny's Obscenities Explained

A bride dropped dead at her own wedding in India prompting her sister to then marry the groom at the same ceremony when the families decided to carry on with the festivities.
The bride, named Surbhi, suffered a heart attack at the ceremony in Etawah city, Uttar Pradesh, after exchanging ornaments with husband-to-be Manjesh Kumar as part of Hindu wedding tradition.
A doctor from the local village was called to the scene but was unable to save her.
The families of both parties agreed to continue with the wedding ceremony by replacing the bride with her sister, Nisha.
Surbhi’s body was kept in a separate room while the festivities took place and she was later cremated.
One of Surbhi’s uncles, Ajab Singh, told MailOnline it was a ‘tough call’ for the family to carry on with the wedding. In separate comments to news agency IANS, Surbhi’s brother Saurabh added:

_We did not know what to do in the situation._

A video of a polyandrous woman married to seven (7) husbands has made rounds on social media. The woman who is apparently a traditional healer is reportedly living in peace with her husbands. The polyandrous woman does not cut her hair as was the case with her predecessors saying, like the Biblical Samson, her powers emanated from the hair. Watch the video below for more.

Meet The Woman Married To 7 Husbands

The Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) has introduced Sayana Press, a new contraceptive in a bid to widen family planning methods available to the people.
Sayana Press, made in Belgium, is an injection that lasts for three months its biggest advantage being that one self-injects. It is inserted under the skin or into the abdomen or the thighs.
A workshop held in Masvingo last week on Adolescence Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) was told that the contraceptive was launched in November last year.
ZNFPC Provincial Manager, Peter Vhoko, said Sayana Press is not taken every day like pills and also works for a fairly reasonable period.
The injection is now available at all ZNFPC and <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Population_Service_International">Population Services International (PSI)</a> clinics. The contraceptive is being rolled out in three provinces namely Matebeleland South, Mashonaland East and Bulawayo Provinces.
ZNFPC launched the contraceptive in conjunction with its partners, the Department for International Development (DIFD), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Sayana Press works by stopping ovaries from releasing eggs to the fallopian tube and hence there will be no fertilization. It also thickens cervical mucus so that the sperm won’t penetrate.
The workshop was attended by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women Affairs, Ministry of Education, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), Social welfare and Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs).
The Sayana Press contraceptive comes at a time when there has been an upsurge in teen pregnancies, particularly, during the lockdown.

National Family Planning Council Introduces Sayana Press, New Contraceptive

A 27-year-old Kyrgyzstan woman, Aizada Kanatbekova, was found dead days after she had been abducted for marriage (musengabere) triggering protests at the offices of that country’s interior ministry on Thursday.
Demonstrators calling for senior interior ministry officials to quit over alleged police inaction over Aizada Kanatbekova’s abduction and murder.
The kidnapping was caught on camera with the car model and the car’s number plates clearly visible.
Aizada Kanatbekova was kidnapped on April 5 and two days later, she was found dead, strangled in a car in a rural area.
Her suspected murderer was also found dead allegedly from knife wounds that are believed to have been self-inflicted.
The suspected murderer’s suspected accomplice has been detained.
Bride kidnapping remains widespread in the former Soviet republic despite official pledges to end the practice.
The practice involves a potential groom forcibly taking a young woman or girl back to his home before pressuring her to agree to marriage by writing a letter of consent.
Prime Minister Ulugbek Maripov addressed the crowd, asking people to give police time to investigate the crime.
President Sadyr Japarov said in a statement the culprits would be punished, calling Kanatbekova’s death a “tragedy”.
According to the UN Women’s office in Bishkek, one in five marriages in the impoverished republic of 6.5 million are concluded after a bride kidnapping incident.
Bride kidnapping or Musengabere (ChiShona) used to be common in Zimbabwe and Africa at large with the main reason being that the groom will be poor to raise the required bride price.
In Africa, the bride <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Marriage">would be “persuaded”</a> to accept the groom once she arrives in her new home. She had very few options though since her parents, in most cases, were reluctant to take her back if she spends one night at the place of the kidnappers.
They would assume the two would have thought they slept together, even when that was not the case because virginity was valued more than precious stones.

Kyrgyzstan Woman Found Dead After Being Kidnapped For Marriage

ZBC News has posted pictures of some state of the art houses that are being erected in rural Plumtree and captioned “the future is rural”.
The state broadcaster says individuals who are building the houses are in the diaspora. They have transformed the cultural mud and thatch dwellings which have traditionally been the common set up for most rural families by investing in modern homes.
This is happening when some are still stampeding to have houses in urban areas causing overpopulation and shortage of land.

Zimbabwe is helping returnees with cash worth ZW$2500, groceries, and other basic commodities such as washing and bathing soap to cushion them from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
This is after reports that some of the returnees, especially those who would have been deported, do not have <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/11/02/366-zimbabwean-returnees-stranded-at-beitbridge/">the basics to start a new life in Zimbabwe.</a>
The <a href="https://twitter.com/OMpslsw/status/1372451508231491587">Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare</a> reported that groceries given to returnees comprise of mealie meal, peanut butter, salt, 2l cooking oil, 2kg sugar, matemba, and tea bags,

PICTURES: Zimbabwe Giving Cash, Groceries To Returnees

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has reportedly completed building a new luxurious mansion in Harare’s upmarket Borrowdale suburb.
The NewsHwawks reported sources saying Chiwenga is expected to move into his new home soon, with truckloads of property, groceries and expensive whiskey recently delivered to the mansion.
The property was constructed in recent months by Chinese nationals who fitted it with the latest technology to bolster his security, at a cost of several millions of dollars.
The house is located along Manombe Close in Carrick Creagh Estate in Borrowdale and has been dubbed the “White House”, an epithet borrowed from the United States president’s neo-classical, palladian official residence and workplace in Washington DC.
Following his acrimonious separation from his wife, Marry in 2019, Chiwenga moved out of their matrimonial home at No.614 Nick Price Road in Zimbabwe’s prime housing estate, Borrowdale Brooke.
Chiwenga’s divorce matter is still pending in court, although he has unilaterally selected the property he prefers giving to his wife.
He got her arrested and detained for a long time, accused her of being a drug addict and also seized their children.
Chiwenga is currently staying at the Golden Peacock Villa Hotel along Kingsmead Road in Borrowdale in Harare owned by Anjin — a joint venture between the Ministry of Defence and a Chinese investor.
His former wife, Jocelyn, who he hounded out of the house which was then inscribed C&amp;J (Constantino and Jocelyn), now lives in the hilltop house in the Brooke.
The house was replaced by C&amp;M (Constantino and Marry) when he married Marry Mubaiwa, but the inscriptions have since been taken down.
Marry is now staying with her parents in Glen Lorne.

Fifty babies were born on Christmas Day at Harare’s three main hospitals, Sally Mugabe Central Hospital, Chitungwiza Central Hospital and Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
Sally Mugabe Central Hospital recorded 22 deliveries, followed by Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals’ Mbuya Nehanda maternity wing, where 20 babies were born while Chitungwiza Central Hospital had 13 births.
Sally Mugabe Central Hospital matron Mrs Dade Pedzisai said a set of twins were among the babies delivered at the hospital. Said Mrs Pedzisai:
“The first delivery was recorded at 12 midnight on Christmas Day,” said Mrs Pedzisai.
<blockquote>We had a total of 22 babies and of these, 15 were boys while seven were girls and among them was a set of twins.
We have discharged all mothers, except for seven who delivered through operations.
We usually keep them for at least four days before we can discharge them.
We did not record any cases of complications but we have one baby who had breathing problems, but he is now stable.</blockquote>
Parirenyatwa public relations manager, Mr Linos Dhire, said 11 girls and nine boys were delivered at the institution.
Chitungwiza Hospital spokesperson Mrs Audrey Tasanarwo said a total of 13 babies – seven boys and six girls, were born at the institution on Christmas Day.
She added that there were no complications during any of the deliveries.

The late Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure’s business manager, Ms Shally (real name Shaleen Manhire-Nullens) says she is still hurting following the death of the socialite on 8 November in a horrific car crash.
In memory of him, she decided to buy a sweater similar to one that was owned by the late socialite.
Taking to social media on Friday, Ms Shally who was always supportive of Ginimbi posted an image of her clad in the sweater with the caption:
<blockquote>Some things are bought just because they remind you of a specific special person.</blockquote>
This caption also served as a disclaimer for social media police who likely would have jumped into the conclusion that Ms Shally took the sweater from the late’s belongings.

Earlier, Ms Shally used social media to dispel rumours claiming that she was evicted from Ginimbi’s Domboshava mansion by his former wife Zodwa Mkandla. Wrote Ms Shally:

I was living with Genius not because I was homeless 😂😂.

I have been living in South Africa to be specific Sandton central since 1999 it’s as good as home to me.

Ms Shally Buys Sweater As Alike Ginimbi's Jersey

With millions of Zimbabweans devastated by a year of drought, rising hyperinflation and COVID-19, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) today appealed for an additional US$204 million to support over four million of the most food-insecure over the next six months.
The appeal comes ahead of the ‘lean’ season, which risks pushing some 6.9 million people—nearly half of Zimbabwe’s population—into hunger by its March peak, according to the most recent national data. That includes roughly one-third of the rural population, who are expected to face “crisis” or “emergency” levels of hunger, and 2.3 million hungry urban dwellers. Others are spared from falling deeper into acute hunger thanks to assistance from WFP and partners. Francesca Erdelmann, WFP Zimbabwe’s representative said:
<blockquote>More than half of Zimbabweans in the rural areas are left no alternative but to skip meals, reduce portion size or sell off precious belongings in order to cope. We are deeply concerned that if WFP does not receive enough funding to reach the four million people it intends to, families will be further pushed to the limit.</blockquote>
The funding would allow WFP to provide the minimum amount of emergency food assistance to the most vulnerable 3.5 million rural and 550,000 urban dwellers, complementing the response of Zimbabwe’s government and other partners.
At least 7.6 million people have fallen into poverty this year — a million more than in 2019, according to the recent ZimVAC rural livelihoods assessment. Hyperinflation – a feature of the country’s economic challenges – has pushed the prices of basics beyond the means of most Zimbabweans.
COVID-19’s fallout has exacerbated the situation – making it especially hard for poor families to afford a nutritious diet, with incomes drying up due to the lockdown.
Subsistence farming families who constitute three-quarters of Zimbabwe’s population and produce most of its food are also hurting because of a third successive drought-hit harvest this year.
While WFP delivers and saves lives with urgently needed humanitarian assistance, its work in Zimbabwe links with a strong resilience agenda to forge and protect developmental gains.

Some argue that dressing has a huge bearing on sexual harassment. Meanwhile, it is important to note that sexual harassment is a broad concept.
While sexual harassment may include rape, street harassment is considered harassment done primarily by acts, sexist slurs, wolf-whistling, catcalling, intrusive gazing, cursing, persistent telling of sexual jokes in public or online, persistent sexual advances, and touching by strangers, in public areas such as streets, shopping malls and public transportation.

Zodwa “Zozo” Mkandla, the ex-wife of flamboyant businessman Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure has rejected rumours claiming that the late socialite had a snake which vomited money.
Zozo told The Sunday Mail last week that she met Ginimbi in 2006 when he was 23 and became “just friends” and it was only in 2009 that they started dating.
She said when they first met, Ginimbi had “nothing” but as a hard worker with only one Ordinary Level subject (Agriculture) to his name, he entered the gas business and worked himself to the top. Said Zozo:
<blockquote>When we first met, Genius had nothing to his name — anga asina chinhu (he had nothing) — but the man was such a hard worker.
He would wake up at 5 am to do his gas business. He continued to work hard throughout his life until he made it to the top.
I was the first in business, hence I was wiser. Genius had bigger business ideas but I always helped him with the wisdom. Likewise, I would go to him for business advice.
What I can say without any shadow of a doubt is that Ginimbi was a go-getter and never used juju.
If there are snakes which vomit money, why can’t people get them and be rich? I watched Genius grow from nothing to a millionaire through sheer hard work.</blockquote>
Zozo also dismissed claims that Ginimbi’s “All White” parties were rituals associated with his ventures. She said:
<blockquote>We all have our colours and his theme was white; what has that to do with mushonga (rituals)? I lived with Genius and I never saw any juju or rituals.
The parties were just him having fun. Anga arimunhu aida zvekunakirwa hake (he was just someone who liked to have fun).</blockquote>

Zari Hassan has travelled to Zimbabwe to console late tycoon Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure’s grieving ex-wife, Zodwa Mkandla, Tuko reports.
The mother of five who was broken by the socialite’s death visited the place where he crashed and his grave.
Taking to her Instagram page on Friday, November 20, the South Africa-based Ugandan socialite shared short videos spending time with Ginimbi’s ex-wife, Zodwa.
The Ugandan socialite visited Zimbabwe days after leaving Tanzania where she had gone to visit her baby daddy.
Kadungure died on 8 November 2020, in a road accident along Borrowdale Road in Harare that also claimed the lives of three of his friends; Limumba Karim, Mitchelle “Moana” Amuli and Alicia Adams.
