The Zimbabwean national football team, the Warriors, have climbed five places in the latest FIFA rankings, reaching position 124 in the world.
The Warriors’ upward trajectory follows their impressive performances during the September international break, where they secured two goalless draws against Kenya and five-time African champions Cameroon in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Warriors’ resolute displays earned them nine points, propelling them five places up the global rankings with a total of 1135 points. On the African continent, they also climbed five places to position 34.
With their momentum building, the Warriors will be aiming to continue their positive run when they face Namibia in a double-header AFCON qualifier in October.
The matches are scheduled for October 11th and 15th, with venues yet to be confirmed. Both Zimbabwe and Namibia are currently unable to host international matches on home soil due to CAF’s condemnation of their stadiums for failing to meet required standards.
Argentina remains at the top of the global rankings, while Morocco continues to hold the top spot in Africa.

Warriors Move Up Five Places On Latest FIFA Rankings

Zimbabwe’s national senior men’s football team, the Warriors, has moved up one place on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking to number 124.
International matches were played across the world in November 2023, with FIFA World Cup 26 qualifiers taking place in Africa, Asia and South America.
The other international matches played last month included UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying matches, Concacaf Nations League 2023-24 encounters and the Pacific Games 2023.
These matches have all had a significant effect on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
Zimbabwe drew 0-0 against Rwanda and played a 1-1 draw against Nigeria in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Group C games.
The two draws have seen Zimbabwe gaining six points which moved them one place up to number 124 in the world.
On the African rankings, the Warriors remained in the 34th position.

Warriors Move Up On FIFA World Rankings

Zimbabwe has fallen with six places down FIFA rankings to be placed at number 118.
The new position is the country’s lowest since the 2018 release.
The slump comes after the Joey Antipas led Warriors performed dismally against low ranked Somalia in 2022 World Cup Qualifier preliminaries.
Zimbabwe lost 1-0 to Somalia and won 3-1 on the second leg.

Zimbabwe’s senior men’s team The Warriors have gained one spot in the latest men’s FIFA world rankings released on Thursday. In the previous rankings announced by FIFA on December 20, 2018, Zimbabwe ranked number 114 by the world soccer body.
Sunday Chidzambwa’s side is 113 in the world. Senegal is Africa’s top team at number 24 in the world. The Warriors are set to play Congo Brazzaville at the National Sports Stadium on March 24 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match.

Warriors Drop  In Latest FIFA World Rankings

The Zimbabwe men’s senior national team have moved up the latest FIFA world Rankings. On the new rankings, which were released on the 4th of May, the Warriors are now ranked number 29 in Africa and number 110 in the world. The Warriors were previously on number 111 in the World following a nightmare campaign at the Africa Cup of Nations in January. Since then, the Warriors have played a single match, a nil all draw international friendly against Zambia.
