A Harare bouncer with close ties to musician Killer T allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday at a local hotel, along Samora Machel Avenue.
Takudzwa Mutaguta (22) reportedly sent his father, Prince Mutaguta, a suicidal WhatsApp message before consuming cyanide to end his life.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson for Harare Province, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the death. He said:

Police are investigating a suspected suicide involving a married man, whose body was found lying at a local hotel around 2.15 pm, on Wednesday.
The now deceased was booked in Room 108, on the first floor of a hotel located corner Samora Machel Avenue and Rotten Row Road.
A container, with cyanide poison and crystals mixed with an unknown liquid, was recovered.
The deceased’s father confirmed receiving a suicidal WhatsApp message on August 1 at 7.23 pm.
The message read, “I have tried to be strong but I have failed”.
The deceased was reported to have been facing marital problems with his wife and his father was once engaged and failed as well.

Some reports claim Takudzwa killed himself after his wife cheated on him while other reports allege the bouncer was actually the one who was cheating on his wife.
Inspector Chakanza urged people to engage third parties, elders, counsellors and the police, to help resolve their differences.

Killer T's Bouncer Commits Suicide At Harare Hotel

Musician Killer T has apologised to his fans within and outside Zimbabwe after he failed to travel to Botswana for a scheduled show last Saturday despite receiving the full US$2 000 payment for the performance in advance.
In a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/100044440179947/posts/530259918465343/">Facebook post</a>, the Zimdancehall chanted said he failed to travel to Botswana for the show due to circumstances beyond his control but vowed that “it will not happen again”. Pindula News is publishing Killer T’s statement below:

We would like to reassure our fans in Zimbabwe and outside Zimbabwe that we are 100% committed to fulfilling shows. We owe it to you, our fans.
We are grateful for your support over the years and we can never thank you our fans enough for all the support you have given us since we started this journey some years ago.
To this end, we would like to issue an unreserved apology to our fans in Botswana for not making it to the Botswana show due to circumstances beyond our control.
For that, we apologise and emphasize that this was never our intention to leave you our fans disappointed. Makatikoshera (we appreciate you).
We know that the support and love that you have for Killer T will help us go through this experience which we regret.
Brighter and happy days are ahead and we shall sing along together at our upcoming shows as always. We owe you that.
We will do what is within our reach to make sure we reach a mutual resolution to the issue at hand.
To our fans in Zimbabwe, Killer T is indebted for all the support you have shown us during the Inzwai Kuchemawo Mambo album Tours which have seen us perform around most parts of the country.
The love you have shown us has amazed us and we owe you more happy moments together at our shows and gigs – you can count on us.
To our fans outside Zimbabwe, both Zimbabweans and those from other countries, we want to assure you that we will take all measures within our control to be at all our confirmed shows.

Killer T Apologises Over His Failure To Pitch Up For Botswana Event

Zimdancehall chanter Killer has pledged to stage a free show for his fans following his failure to turn up for a show in Botswana over the weekend despite receiving the full US$2 000 payment for the performance.
The organisers of the show were left counting the cost after irate fans attacked bouncers and destroyed property at the venue following Killer’s no-show.
The musician’s manager, Kudzai “Super” Biston said they will discuss with the organisers and chat a way forward.
He, however, blamed the show organisers for tarnishing their image, following the orgy of violence. Said Biston:

It was their first time doing a show and I don’t know if it was pressure.
They started pushing everything on social media, meaning they wanted to tarnish our image.
We cannot put out pressure on social media attacks. Imagine everyone is writing what they want.
Just ask them if they delivered their papers on time? We will engage them and we may do a free show for our fans.
There are some situations that arise when you are an artist, and this is one of them.
Killer murungu wangu (is my employer) and knows what should be done. We are planning a free show.
We have chats with them, where we communicated from day one, I have the papers, which they signed, and ask them if everything was done on time?
But we will do it for our fans, a free show is coming soon.

One of the organisers of the aborted show, William, said some fans are still demanding to be reimbursed what they paid to enter the venue.
He also accused Killer T’s camp of tarnishing their brand. Said, William:

They (Killer T’s camp) have not given me any feedback, I am even shocked, people were waiting for him.
We went three times to the airport, to make sure, but he never came.
We are facing a lot of challenges, kufamba mahwani (we are now afraid appearing in public) because people are demanding their payments back.
Fans want to know and I don’t know where we will get the money.
We are waiting for his confirmation as to why he didn’t come.
People were injured, the name of the company has been tarnished, and everyone was angry.

Killer T Pledges To Stage Free Show

Award-winning Zimdancehall artist Killer T allegedly failed to show up for a show in Botswana where he was supposed to perform on Saturday.
Killer T had done an endorsement video and notified his fans he would be in Botswana on 2 April to perform at Big Five lodge.
H-Metro reported sources as saying the musician told his Botswana contacts that he was on his way to the show and fans filled up the venue.
Violence reportedly broke up at the venue when Killer T did not show up and some bouncers were stabbed while the venue was damaged during the melee.
One of the show coordinators, Boss Lazzy, accused Killer T of unprofessionalism and soiling their name. He said fans had paid cash P150 and P300 VIP. Said Boss Lazzy:

We engaged Killer T for the show, he was supposed to arrive here on Friday.
He didn’t make it and promised to come on Saturday, after saying he missed his flight.
We gave him US$2 000 after he had said haadi zvemahalf (he doesn’t want to be paid in instalments). 
Fans then heard that he had not come and violence erupted resulting in bouncers being stabbed.
DJ Prosper Taks, who was performing at the show, also confirmed the incident. He said:
Killer T akatikuvadzisa, (he got us into trouble) things were damaged and fans were injured, bottles were thrown.
Bouncers escaped from the venue with stab wounds.
I ran away from the scene after removing my instruments, some speakers were taken, and lights were destroyed.
I don’t think Zimbos will do a show again here because the venue owners are not happy.
Fans were waiting for him but he did not come and we played other songs until 2 AM.
People then realised he was not coming, we tried playing his songs but Killer T haana kubatika.
People are admitted in the hospital right now, venue yakaita marara.
Anga azadza but he disappointed. I had to play his songs kuti vanhu vadzikame until 2 AM tatoona kuti amahwani ayo, ndopandakazotiza vakukwira pastage.

Killer T In No-show At Botswana Event Despite Receiving US$2 000 Full Payment

Zimdancehall artiste, Killer T, real name Kelvin Kusikwenyu, has released his fourth studio album titled Inzwai Kuchemawo Mambo.
The 16-track album was dropped on Monday after the release was postponed a week ago over technical challenges.
The album, which was initially set to be released on the 28th of August, comes three years after his acclaimed album Mashoko Anopfura in 2018.
In a post on Facebook on Sunday, Killer T thanked local music promoter Samuel “Boss Werras” Saungweme, fans, fellow artists among others for helping him along the journey of making the new album. He wrote:

Give me this opportunity to thank you for the support you have shown me in the journey of making Inzwai Kuchemawo Mambo Album, for the project to be done, many were involved.
I begin with Thanks to Samuel Boss Werras who helped us in the movement of this project for it to be a success, producers, bloggers, fellow artists, the hot property team, and mostly my fans who were pushing for the recognition of the project.
They were all pushing for our identity. Alone I can’t and on my own, it will never go away.
Tomorrow we are releasing the project and I hope that you will receive it with the same energy as before.

Production of the album was handled by popular producers Cymplex, Oskid, Levels, Maselo, Aya T, Tynash and Sheltang.

Killer T Releases Fourth Album

Popular dancehall musician Killer T(real name Kelvin Kusikwenyu)’s foundation has reportedly mobilised funds to buy food for the elderly in Mbare, The Herald reports. The foundation raised enough money to buy groceries that were disbursed to 500 elderly people in Mbare yesterday.
Speaking about the campaign, Killer T said this to the publication:
<blockquote>I grew up in Mbare and I witnessed what some of these disadvantaged elderly people go through. Most of them are raising their orphaned grandchildren and they struggle to make ends meet.
We know we did not give them enough but those 10kgs of roller meal and two litres of cooking oil are just tokens of appreciation. We hope to do better when we mobilise more resources.</blockquote>
Moving forward Killer T said he wants his foundation to help orphans in the society.

Popular Zimdancehall musician, Killer T and producer Oskid have produced a song dedicated to Oliver Mtukudzi.

The song is from his latest album Mashoko Anopfuura. This is the first official video from the album. Zimdancehall artist, Killer T, will launch his 3rd “Mashoko Anopfuura” on 6 April.
The launch will be at Club 1+1 Happy at Longcheng Plaza. The album was reportedly supposed to be released in late 2017 but was postponed after due to album launches by other artists at that time. The Album has 15 tracks.
Said manager Kudzai Biston on the upcoming launch:

Killer T’s manager  Kudzai “Supa” Biston has defended the musician after he failed to translate the title of his song “Bvunza Tinzwe” into English. Biston said there was no need for people to make fun of the Zimdancehall chanter since English is not his first language.
Said Biston:
<blockquote>English is not our first language and everyone is not fluent in the language that’s why there are different types of languages. Problem yemaZimbo vanoti munhu wese anofanira kugona kutaura chirungu yet that’s not it. As the manager I managed to explain what had been asked. The questions were asked randomly so to answer such questions might be difficult that’s why he stammered. Let them talk but we are different but the good thing is Killer T is winning hearts of many.</blockquote>

Manager defends Killer T after he fails to translate his song "Bvunza Tinzwe" into English

Zimdancehall hit maker Killer T has released a new song “Yolanda”. The song is about a girl that Killer T is in love with. He pleads with the girl not to hurt him. He also mentions that she infected him, probably with a sexually transmitted infection while cheating on him with rich men, when he sings: “Wakandizadza gwembe/uchidana nemhene”. Killer T releases new song "Yolanda"

Speaking to NewsDay, Killer T’s manager, Kudzai Biston, said they have since made a decision not to enter any awards in future. This comes after the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) judges’ decision not to award him the award for Song of the Year in recognition of his track, Takangodaro which lost to Jah Prayzah’s song, Mudhara Vachauya.
Said Biston:
<blockquote>After this edition, we have decided not to enter any awards. It is very disappointing and we do not know how they adjudicate all this. Last year, we feel we were robbed and this year again? We can’t repeat this.</blockquote>
This is not the first time artistes have complained about Nama awards selection. In 2014, Edith WeUtonga attacked Nama adjudicators for selecting Olivia Charamba as Outstanding Female Musician ahead of her and Selmor Mtukudzi.
