Former ZANU PF National Youth Political Commissar, Godfrey Tsenengamu says he will never rejoin the ruling party.
Tsenengamu was one of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s backers when he became ZANU PF leader in 2017 but was fired from the party on 4 March 2020 by a unanimous Politburo decision.
He was expelled for not respecting senior ZANU PF members.
In a post on Facebook after former ZANU PF Harare Provincial Youth chairman Jim Kunaka announced that he had rejoined the ruling party, Tsenengamu vowed never to rejoin ZANU PF. He said:

My dear comrades, please stop speculating and spreading fake news about my coming back to ZANU-PF because it is not going to happen again.
However, I will not judge my brother Jim Kunaka for his decision to rejoin his former comrades in the same way I didn’t judge Khupe, Sikhala, Biti, Welshman and team when they rejoined their former colleagues in the main opposition.

In July 2022, Tsenengamu and Kunaka held media conferences where they said Mnangagwa should step down and allow Vice President Constantino Chiwenga to take over.

I Will Never Rejoin ZANU PF, Says Godfrey Tsenengamu

Former ZANU PF Youth League Political Commissar <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Godfrey_Tsenengamu">Godfrey Tsenengamu</a> said that President Emmerson Mnangagwa has disappointed millions of Zimbabweans and other individuals who risked their lives in supporting his bid to succeed the late former President Robert Mugabe.
Mnangagwa took over from Mugabe following the 17 November 2017 military coup that ousted the latter following bitter factionalism within ZANU PF.
Tsengengamu made the remarks while speaking during an interview with Alpha Media Holdings chairman Trevor Ncube on the platform In Conversation with Trevor.
He said he believed Mnangagwa was a national leader capable of eradicating high-profile corruption in the country. <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200012777/mnangagwa-let-us-down-tsenengamu">Said Tsenengamu</a>:

I was clear from the time Mai (Joice) Mujuru went down saying I think the one who is going to be the next president was Emmerson Mnangagwa and it was taboo to say that.
Where I was coming from in Mashonaland Central there were a lot of fights that were going on within ZANU PF, the maZezurus versus the Karangas, so naturally I was not expected to be siding with the Zezurus.
When I was looking at Mnangagwa, I was not seeing a Karanga. I was seeing somebody with the potential to become a national leader, so I did not subscribe to this notion of tribal supremacy as it was happening in ZANU PF.
I got myself suspended because I had used the church platform to bring Mnangagwa at Gora to the late VaWimbo.
By then the provincial gurus had said Mnangagwa should not come to Mashonaland Central.
I thought that Mnangagwa deserved to be given a chance to prove what he had said that he was a better leader and I was looking at him as somebody who was very loyal for some time to the then President Robert Mugabe and I thought that he had learned a number of things from the way Mugabe did his things, what he did right and what he did wrong.
I also thought that maybe he was going to be the bridge between the old madhalas (guard) and the young people coming as a transitional leader.
In my mind, I would say that if Mugabe steps down, Mnangagwa would come in and after him, I had two options between Saviour Kasukuwere and Walter Mzembi.

Tsenengamu, who now leads the Front for Economic Emancipation of Zimbabwe (FEEZ), added:

From our engagements pre-November 2017, he would appear like someone who was sincere and when he got into power I expected that he was going to keep his word, he was going to do as we had been discussing before he got into power.
When I realised that this was not happening, at first I thought that those who were around him were the problem, but I said, no we are going into the same trap or scenario as we did with Mugabe when we thought that he himself was okay, only those who were surrounding him were the problem.
But I said no, these people who are surrounding Mnangagwa did not come from heaven, he appointed them and he is comfortable working with them, he is pushing through his agenda and whatever that he seeks to do through them.

Tsenengamu launched the FEEZ party in 2021, a year after he was suspended by ZANU PF alongside the party’s then youth secretary Lewis Matutu for indiscipline in 2020.
The duo had accused ZANU PF benefactors Kuda Tagwirei, Tafadzwa Musarara and Billy Rautenbach of having captured State institutions.
Mnangagwa and his family were recently implicated in gold smuggling and money laundering by Al Jazeera, in a documentary called “Gold Mafia”.

I Was Fooled Into Believing Mnangagwa Will Bring Change - Tsenengamu

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Farai_Maguwu">Farai Maguwu</a>, the founding Director of the Centre for <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Natural Resource Governance</a>, stated that the looting of lithium at <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Bikita Minerals</a> has reached a new level, with 754 tonnes of concentrate being processed daily.
In a Twitter post seen by Pindula News, Maguwu whose organization is working on improved governance of natural resources in Zimbabwe said 42 trucks loaded with lithium concentrate departing daily with the loot. He said:

Bikita Lithium Looting Update 02/05/23 Fellow Zimbabweans, the looting of our minerals at Bikita Minerals has reached another level. They are processing 754 tonnes of concentrate per day. 42 trucks loaded with lithium concentrate departing daily with the loot.

Last year, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Godfrey_Tsenengamu">Godfrey Tsenengamu </a>, former ZANU PF Youth League Political Commissar, claimed that lithium was being siphoned from <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Bikita Minerals</a> to China. <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Chinese company</a> SinoMine bought Bikita Minerals and is investing over $200 million in expanding operations and building a new processing plant. Tsenengamu, now leading the Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe, called on President Mnangagwa to address reports of looting and plunder at Bikita Minerals. He said in a Facebook post seen by Pindula News:

Loads and loads of lithium at Bikita Minerals ready for shipping to China. The Chinese are extracting lithium 24 hours a day. Ndiko kuvaka nyika kwamunotaura here uku President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa kana ndiko kutengesa nyika?? Tichasara nei senyika?? [Is this what you mean by “building the nation,” President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, or is it selling the nation? What will be left of the country?] My heart is bleeding.

Last year, Justice Chinhema, the General Secretary for the Zimbabwe Diamond and Allied Minerals Workers Union, confirmed the claims of resource plunder. He said workers at Sino Mine claim to produce around 15 000 tonnes of lithium per month which means recent claims by Maguwu signify a huge development. Chinhema told Pindula News last year:

We are worried, the benefit for the country is yet to be known. Job Creation when the working conditions are worse than those that prevailed before take over might mean nothing. We need to educate our communities where mining is taking place that they need to push the government to fully implement the local share ownership so that local communities benefit.

Chinhema stated that a policy should require investors to develop the areas where they mine by building schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, and other social amenities. He added that the law should mandate investors to ensure that communities receive shares from the companies, or it becomes looting.
<h2>Background:</h2>
In June 2022, President Mnangagwa <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/president-mnangagwa-commissions-us300m-lithium-project-by-sinomine/">commissioned the US$300m spodumene lithium project</a> which has one of the world’s largest lithium deposits. Bikita Minerals, <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Zimbabwe</a>‘s oldest miner of lithium-bearing minerals, has been operating in <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Masvingo Province</a> for over 70 years but has only been producing petalite, mainly for the glass and ceramics industry.
<h2>Why is this important:</h2>
The demand for lithium has increased due to the production of electric vehicles. Zimbabwe, which has a large deposit of the mineral, could potentially benefit from this, but there are concerns that the country may not be fully utilizing its resources. Zimbabwe has a history of using its <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">mineral resources</a> as <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/biti-asks-finance-minister-how-is-zimbabwe-paying-us52-billion-to-china-for-us200-million-loan/">collateral for loans</a>, which critics argue is not sustainable. Therefore, there are calls for African countries to <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/tony-blair-urges-african-countries-to-stop-exporting-raw-commodities/">process their natural resources</a> and export semi-finished or finished commodities to maximize their benefits.
In 2022, <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2022/12/20/zimbabwe-bans-export-of-raw-lithium/">Zimbabwe banned the export of raw lithium</a> to promote <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">value addition</a> and beneficiation of the mineral. The Minister of Mines and Mining Development, <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Winston Chitando</a>, issued the Base Minerals Export Control (Unbeneficiated Lithium Bearing Ores) Order, 2022, which prohibits the export of raw lithium. <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2023/01/13/zimbabwe-defence-industries-granted-a-special-permit-to-export-raw-lithium/">special</a>
The Zimbabwean government exempted certain miners from the ban on raw lithium exports. The <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Zimbabwe Defence Industries</a> was granted a <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2023/01/13/zimbabwe-defence-industries-granted-a-special-permit-to-export-raw-lithium/">special permit to continue exporting raw lithium</a>.
These reports of looting come as Zimbabwe is still dealing with the fallout from the release of the <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Al Jazeera</a> documentary “Gold Mafia.” The documentary alleges <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">gold smuggling</a> and <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">money laundering</a> within and around Zimbabwe, implicating some senior government officials. Zimbabwe is allegedly losing billions of dollars through gold smuggling each year.

Looting Of Lithium At Bikita Minerals Has Reached Another Level - Maguwu

The opposition Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ) party led by Godfrey Tsenengamu has condemned the move by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to give out loans to Cabinet Ministers, their Deputies, and Members of Parliament (MPs) a few months before general elections.
The government has offered a US$40 000 housing loan to each sitting MP, US$500 000 for individual ministers, and US$350 000 for their deputies.
In a statement, FEEZ argued that the loans are not meant for the purchase of residential homes but meant to provide ZANU-PF MPs with resources to campaign for general elections scheduled for 2023 so that the party retains a two-thirds parliamentary majority. Reads the statement:

The Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ) castigates and condemns in the strongest terms the lack of compassion by the ED-led ZANU-PF regime to the suffering masses of Zimbabwe as shown by its move to fork out millions of scarce foreign currency to Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Members of Parliament in the guise of providing residential stands loans.
The FEEZ party does not take lightly this insensitive move by the ZANU-PF government which is being done at the expense of the poor taxpayers including civil servants whose salaries are way below the poverty datum line and the poor masses who can’t access basic social services like health as they are living on less than $1 a day. 
As FEEZ, we know that these monies being parcelled out are not meant for the purchase of residential homes but meant to provide ZANU-PF MPs4ED with ready resources to use in their 2023 campaigns in order for ZANU-PF to maintain its two-thirds majority in Parliament. 
This is so because there is no way a government can provide repayable loans to people who have less than a year in office when vehicle loans of the same magnitude are spread over a five-year period. 
There is no way these loans are going to be repaid because they are never meant to be repaid.
While some might have wanted us to capitalize on this opportunity to score cheap political points over our colleagues in the opposition, we have chosen to be realistic and objective.
From a principle and moral point of view, we may have wanted to challenge all opposition Members of Parliament especially those from CCC to stop and reflect before taking up these loans as this is not only going to reflect badly on them but also leave them compromised and tainted such that they won’t be able to hold the government to account and will largely be seen as being selfish. 
However, on another thought, we noted that it will be unwise to encourage them to do so given that their ZANU-PF and MDC colleagues will still take the money and fund their 2023 campaigns. 
It is tricky for the CCC legislators to do so also given the fact that both ZANU-PF and MDC parties have always had a share of Political Parties Finance given by the government and the CCC has been struggling to get funding and only relying on handouts from well-wishers. 
Besides these monies, that the ED-led ZANU-PF government is giving out to its MPs4ED under the guise of housing loans when in reality these are campaign funds, the opposition will have to face a well-oiled ZANUPF campaign machinery being bankrolled to the tune of USD150 million. 
In a normal set up we would have asked our colleagues in the opposition to turn down the loans but doing so will leave them financially crippled ahead of a crucial election.
We urge Zimbabweans to be able to read between the lines. Here we are dealing with a cunning government that has for the first time in history given out a budget to fund activities of the ZANU-PF Secretary for Environment and Tourism (Mai Auxillia Mnangagwa) under the guise of supporting the First Lady’s cultural and tourism programmes. That is ZANU-PF for you.
We, therefore, urge our comrades in the CCC to look at this matter objectively and find a better way to handle the issue before it causes disharmony in their movement ahead of 2023.
More importantly, we feel that it may also be unfair if we also don’t point out and condemn the bad habits of the electorate that we believe contribute to what we are condemning today. 
We make an issue out of the common but bad practice by the electorate of demanding to be bribed and bought out through soliciting for goodies and handouts from those they seek to vote into office to serve and represent them as this practice leads to incidences where those elected after having pumped out their hard-earned resources to win an election would naturally then seek to recover costs incurred during campaigns when they get in office. 
For as long as our people continue to commodify their vote and demand to be bribed to vote for a leader, it will be difficult to demand selfless and servant leadership from those who would have bought their way into public office. 
This practice breeds corruption and must be discouraged and stopped going forward.

FEEZ Speaks On USD Loans For Ministers, Deputies, MPs | Full Statement

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Godfrey_Tsenengamu">Godfrey Tsenengamu</a> who leads the opposition Front for Economic Emancipation said his party won’t be stopped by anyone, even state security agents, particularly members of the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO).
He also said his party would push for the formation of a government of national unity after next year’s general elections, <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200001846/tsenengamus-party-dares-cio-ahead-of-polls">NewsDay</a> reported.
Addressing a Press conference in Harare yesterday, Tsenengamu said:

We are not afraid of anyone; be it the CIO because we are not going to break any law to mobilise people. If anyone thinks that they will stop us, they will be disappointed as they won’t be able to stop us.
We will respond equally to anyone who wants to stop us because we believe that we are all equal. What is enjoyed by Zanu PF should be enjoyed by everyone.

He called on the ruling party to desist from disrupting opposition rallies ahead of elections.
Tsenengamu a former ZANU PF Youth League Political Commissar said he knew that the ruling party was going to try to intimidate them adding that his party was prepared for any eventuality.

"We'll Respond Equally To Anyone Who Wants To Stop Us," Tsenengamu Dares CIOs

Former ZANU PF Youth League Political Commissar, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Godfrey_Tsenengamu">Godfrey Tsenengamu</a> has claimed that loads of lithium are being siphoned from Bikita Minerals and being shipped to China.
SinoMine, a Chinese mining company bought Bikita Minerals from shareholders including <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Dzikamai_Mavhaire">Dzikamai Mavhaire</a> and they are reportedly pouring over US$200 million into building a new processing plant while expanding operations.
Tsenengamu who now leads the Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ) urged President Emmerson Mnangagwa to explain if reports of looting and plunder were what he meant by “Nyika inovakwa neveno vayo” [a country is built by its own people]. He said in a Facebook post seen by Pindula News:

"Loads Of Lithium At Bikita Minerals Ready For Shipping To China" - Tsenengamu

ZANU PF member, Sybeth Musengezi, says Zimbabwe’s current leaders are acting worse than successive colonial era governments that ill-treated people who protested over social injustices.
Musengezi, who approached the courts seeking to nullify President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rise to the ZANU PF’s helm, believes the President reneged on earlier promises made when he ascended to power in 2017.
Speaking during a press conference in Harare this week, Musengezi said Mnangagwa should stop persecuting opposition activists. He said:

When we voted for Mnangagwa in 2018, we expected him to be a father to everyone not only a father to ZANU PF.
We are not in support of the way he has been treating opposition activists, and I’m calling upon my fellow comrades to stop these kinds of actions.
Our founding values emanate from the social injustices that were being perpetrated against blacks by Ian Smith during the colonial era. Our leaders are acting like terrorists.

ZANU PF’s Central Committee endorsed Mnangagwa as Robert Mugabe’s successor after the latter was deposed by the military in November 2017.
Musengezi is a member of a group that has come together in support of jailed opposition legislator Job Sikhala.
Front For Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ), Godfrey Tsenengamu, who was expelled from ZANU PF after accusing some party bigwigs of corruption, said:

Former ZANU PF Youth League political commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu says his erstwhile colleagues are being given false hope by the party’s senior leadership.
Tsenengamu, who now leads the Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ), said top ZANU PF leaders don’t care about youths’ well-being and are only concerned with giving their children and girlfriends economic opportunities. He posted on Facebook:

Muri kupiwa false hope nguva ichipera (you are wasting time holding onto false hope).
It is sad that you vote for them into government assuming that they will use that mandate to represent you, empower and create opportunities for you when all they need is that power to defend and protect their economic interests and investments.
They also want to use that power to take away opportunities from you and give them to their children and girlfriends and also use that power to deal with you when you threaten their bread and butter.
To worsen matters, you have no strong and principled youth leadership to represent you even in your party but a bunch of bootlickers, praise-singers and parrots.

Tsenengamu was expelled from ZANU PF in March 2020 following his suspension the previous month for alleging that top allies of President Emmerson Mnangagwa including Kuda Tagwirei, had captured State institutions and were running cartels.
He had made the allegations together with the then deputy youth secretary Lewis Matutu during a press conference.
While Matutu was spared the axe by the Politburo, Tsenengamu was fired after he refused to apologise and undergo ideological reorientation.

"You Are Being Used," Tsenengamu Tells ZANU PF Youths

Former ZANU PF national youth league political commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu says he will not rejoin the ruling party claiming that he has rejected numerous invites to rejoin the party.
Tsenengamu, who was fired by ZANU PF after accusing the party’s bigwigs of corruption, told NewsDay that he will never rejoin the ruling party. He said:

I have no intentions to rejoin ZANU PF and that is why I went ahead with others to form a new party, the Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe.
I have lost count of the invitations that came for me to rejoin ZANU PF, but I have repeatedly told them that I was not going to because I now know that the problem is not just with the individual at the helm, but the whole party system.

Meanwhile, ZANU PF national youth league boss Tendai Chirau on Friday scoffed at Tsenengamu’s remarks, describing his erstwhile colleague as “a nonentity”. Said Chirau:

He is sounding emotional. There are high-profile ZANU PF officials who left the party and their absence was not felt.
ZANU PF is a big party and it accommodates everyone. If he wants to come back to the party, he knows all the procedures to be followed.

Tsenengamu 'Has No Intentions To Rejoin ZANU PF'

Former ZANU PF Youth League political commissar, Godfrey Tsenengamu who now leads the newly formed Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ) party broke down Saturday, as he confessed violent crimes he committed during the time he led ruling ZANU PF’s youth league.
Tsenengamu was speaking at the launch of FEEZ in Harare, a year after his expulsion from ZANU PF for “naming and shaming” political elites and businesspeople choking efforts to revive the economy by engaging in corruption.
However, Tsenengamu failed to contain his emotions and choked as he begged Zimbabweans and God for forgiveness. He said:

I as Godfrey Tsenengamu was a member ofZANU PF. I joined that party at a time when I loved it and had an agenda to build my nation too.
There are a lot of things I did when I was in Zanu PF, good and bad. I come before those whom I did wrong and ask for your forgiveness, I mean what I did wrong in thought, action and planning, may you please forgive me.
I will not say what others did, but confess what I did. I am not doing this to make anyone happy, but to ask for salvation and forgiveness from God.
I spoke words that divided Zimbabweans, there are people who failed to find peace during the time I was a youth in Zanu PF. I do not have blood on my hands, but I swear there are people who did not have peace in their lives because of my actions while I was in Zanu PF, Lord forgive me.
I come before all Zimbabweans in earnest. God, you are the one who knows my heart, give me strength. I am not begging you to support me, but give me an opportunity to have a new lease of life.

Former ZANU PF Youth League Political Commissar, Godfrey Tsenengamu was this Wednesday granted ZWL$10 000 bail when he appeared before High Court judge, Justice David Foroma.
Tsenengamu who is accused of inciting public violence after urging the citizenry to particiate in foiled 31July anti-coruption protests was initially denied bail by Magistrate Nduna who said his security was not guaranteed outside prison.
The Magistrate based his argument on a report by Tsenengamu that unidentified people were following him and harassing his family.
Speaking to NewZimbabwe after the court session, Tsenengamu’s lawyer Harrison Nkomo said Justice Foroma observed that magistrate Nduna’s ruling lacked merit. He said:
<blockquote>The High Court judge found out that the magistrate erred in failing to grant my client bail. He said there was a clear misdirection because no evidence was given by the state to prove that he is a flight risk or to prove that his life was in danger.</blockquote>
Justice Foroma ordered Tsenengamu to surrender his passport with the clerk of court, to continue residing at his given address, not to interfere with state witnesses, and report twice a week at Waterfalls Police Station in Harare as part of his bail conditions.

Tsenengamu Denied Bail, Judge Cites His Safety

EEFZ leader <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Godfrey_Tsenengamu">Godfrey Tsenengamu</a> will have to spend another night in custody before Harare Magistrate Ngoni Nduna delivers a ruling on his bail application, The Herald reports.
Nduna said he is yet to complete his bail ruling and it will only be available tomorrow and Tsenengamu will sleep in custody again tonight.
Tsenengamu handed himself to the police on Friday ending close to 3 months in hiding after ZRP published a statement that said <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/07/27/job-sikhala-peter-mutasa-godfrey-tsenengamu-among-the-long-list-of-individuals-wanted-by-police-for-an-interview/">they wanted to interview him and 14 other activists</a> in July just before the 31st of July’s planned protests.
The sate while opposing Tsenengamu’s bail bid on Saturday said him being <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/10/10/tsenengamu-will-be-safe-in-jail-than-outside-state/">in custody was for his own safety. </a>

Harare Magistrate Postpones Tsenengamu's Bail Ruling

Former Zanu PF Mashonaland Central youth chairperson Godfrey Tsenengamu is scheduled to appear before the courts over incitement of violence after he urged the citizenry to participate in the foiled July 31 anti-corruption protests.
Tsenengamu is among 14 political activists, including MDC-Alliance vice-chair Job Sikhala who have been on the police’s list of wanted people over unspecified reasons.
He surrendered himself to the police this Friday morning at the CID Law and Order Section after a long period of evading the law enforcers.
Tsenengamu is in Police custody and will appear in court on October 10 to answer to charges of incitement to commit public violence charges as defined in Section 187(1) (a) as read in section 37 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 09:23.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said he was still checking the details of the matter.

Former War Veterans leader Rugare Gumbo has made sensational claims that the President is being sabotaged by people within the ruling party, the Daily News reports.
Speaking to the Daily News, the former cabinet minister said the country is for everyone and dialogue is the only way to go:
<blockquote>He (Mnangagwa) must be aware of being sabotaged from within, and I think this is now clearly happening in Zanu PF. In politics, those things happen. But the president must be a visionary leader with good strategies to be able to deal with all these problems.
As I also always say, dialogue is the only way forward for this country. The 2023 elections are very far because people are suffering. You cannot solve these problems through propaganda.
The country is for everyone, from trade unions to churches and other stakeholders. People just need to sit down and talk.We went to war to make sure that all Zimbabweans have a good life and that they are happy all the time. It is important for Zanu PF to implement political and economic reforms.
They must do this not for themselves, but for the good of the country. The future of the party will not be good if they fail to implement the much needed reforms.</blockquote>
Gumbo’s sentiments were echoed by Godfrey Tsenengamu who said President Mnangagwa was surrounded by people who cant tell him the truth:
<blockquote>He is being sabotaged by his own comrades who are bitter for various reasons and also from remnants of the old dispensation. But his biggest challenge has been that of surrounding himself with people who have no appreciation of his vision. He picked people from nowhere and entrusted them with key positions, and these people are letting him down. The other challenge is that he surrounded himself with people who can’t tell him the truth, and this is working against him.</blockquote>
<blockquote>The majority of the people who rushed to surround him are nothing but mere opportunists and extortionists who are busy lining their pockets and doing everything possible to tarnish his name,” Tsenengamu also let rip. It is important that the president lays the foundation for a better society in which he will be able to live even after his time as president. In whatever he is doing today, he must think about tomorrow.</blockquote>
The duo’s sentiments come amid a dire economic meltdown that has seen inflation soaring to over 830%.

Former Zanu PF youth league Leader and FEEZ leader Geodfrey Tsenengamu has revealed that his life is in danger because state agents are hunting for him like a wild animal and threatening his family, New Zimbabwe reports.
Speaking in an interview with the publication, Tsenengamu said:
<blockquote>I will not come out of hiding anytime soon. My life is under threat. I am being hunted down like a wild animal for daring to speak out and challenge the corrupt and looters. For more than a month now, I have not been able to be with my family as I am always moving from one point to the other hiding away from my former comrades who have unleashed the state apparatus on me as well as on  others whom I have no idea about their whereabouts and safety.”
My family has been harassed and tormented and I have no peace. The state agents have been to my farm and Harare home over and over again. I am told the police have been instructed to fabricate additional non-political charges against me in case they arrest me.
To achieve this, they have been making frantic efforts to dig into my past as far back as when I was (Zanu PF) provincial youth chairman in Mashonaland Central in a bid to see if they could find crimes of abuse of office. All this is in a bid to silence me for raising a voice against corruption and looting.
They want it to appear like I am a criminal and not a victim of ongoing persecutions against dissenting voices. I am not safe and so is my family. I am ready to pay the price for my principles, but they must leave my family out of this. I am not going to run away from this country. I am not a criminal.</blockquote>
Tsenengamu has become a fierce Zanu PF critic ever since he was expelled from the party earlier this year after he named corrupt people in the party he and Lewis Matutu accused of wreaking havoc in the economy.

Two ZANU PF Youth League officials, Pupurai Togarepi and Lewis Matutu have completed their rehabilitation at the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology.
The duo was suspended together with the former Youth League political commissar, Godfrey Tsenengamu for violation of the party’s code of conduct after they convened an anti-corruption presser targeting party officials and some senior government officials.
ZANU PF Political commissar, Victor Matemadanda told Daily News on Wednesday that he was not sure whether Togarepi and Matutu, in that order, would keep their positions as youth league’s secretary and deputy secretary. He said:

Ousted ZANU PF Youth League Officials Complete Rehabilitation At Herbert Chitepo Ideological School

EEF leader Godfrey Tsenengamu has responded to the ZRP which <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/07/27/job-sikhala-peter-mutasa-godfrey-tsenengamu-among-the-long-list-of-individuals-wanted-by-police-for-an-interview/">released a statement saying it was looking for him and 12 other activists for an interview</a>. Calling Chinamasa a bin man (after he was photoshopped commissioning a bin in Rusape) and a failed old man, an angry Tsenengamu went on to say Chinamasa was corrupt and wanted people to fight each other to keep him and other Zanu PF bigwigs position to unfairly benefit through corruption.
Chinamasa at a press conference yesterday urged Zanu PF members to defend themselves from protestors on Friday.

The leader of anti-corruption pressure group Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ), Godfrey Tsenengamu, said it is preposterous to suggest that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s seeming inability to stop the economic implosion is because those close to him are misleading him.
Tsenengamu queried how a whole president could be misled when he has all the State apparatus and also a coterie of advisors at his disposal. The former ZANU PF official said:
<blockquote>If we say he is not in charge, then that means he is a weak leader and maybe a placeholder.
And if that is the case, then it means that he is unfit for his position.
If we also say that he is being misled by alleged lieutenants, then it also means that he is not what we thought and believed him to be.
How could a whole president be misled when he has all the apparatus at his disposal … think of the intelligence services in the defence, CIO and police. Are they all misleading him?.
He has a whole Cabinet, the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) … politburo, central committee and the Political Actors Dialogue … all there to advise him and you still suggest that he is being misled. Why?</blockquote>
Tsenengamu challenged the 77-year-old to just pull up his socks as he is the president and the chief executive of the country.
He further urged Mnangagwa to start listening to advice and also to deal with endemic corruption which has grounded the economy.

Tsenengamu: ED Should 'Just Pull Up His Socks' And Provide Strong Leadership

Former Zanu PF youth league official Godfrey Tsenengamu has made claims that Zanu PF is captured by wealthy benefactors and they are no longer keen to fight corruption, Newsday reports.
Tsenengamu said the ruling party’s top officials have received top of the range vehicles for the “wealthy benefactors” and they cannot go against their sponsors:
<blockquote>The majority of them are getting salaries from these wealthy benefactors, they are given cars and the fuel they use. How do you expect people to go against someone who is sponsoring them</blockquote>
Tsenengamu also said the whole system in Zanu PF was made up of looters:
<blockquote>It is not about the whole party, it is about a clique of people who are in the leadership, who instead of being leaders, they have turned themselves into looters. Whenever you challenge looting, you are always going to face the music whenever you challenge corruption. Because corruption is in their DNA, they will deal with you</blockquote>
He also went on to sensationally claim that President Mnangagwa was an accomplice to all the corruption that was happening around him:
<blockquote>I would not want to say President Mnangagwa is corrupt or not, but what I can say is, in one way or the other, the President is an accomplice in all the corruption that is happening around him. He has failed to act decisively and he finds himself in the company of those who are corrupt all the time. He appointed a commission to investigate internal allegations of corruption but it suffered a stillbirth up to now</blockquote>
However, Zanu PF through Victor Matemadanda dismissed Tsenengamu’s claims and said:
<blockquote>Those are lies. What happens if I show you evidence that I bought my car? I have the papers of that car and I keep them because I know that some people are going to make these allegations</blockquote>

The ruling ZANU PF has appointed its Secretary for Security, Lovemore Matuke to investigate the power behind the “indiscipline and delinquent behaviour” of some Youth League members who were recently suspended.
Pupurai Togarepi, Godfrey Tsenengamu and Lewis Matutu who were, in that order, the Youth League’s Secretary, Political Commissar and Deputy Secretary were suspended after they named and shamed alleged cartels bleeding the economy.

Looking back at my past, I strongly believe that it is a reality that cannot be wished away hence the decision to take personal responsibility and ask for your forgiveness and find peace with my past.
Today, I humble and submit myself before you all my fellow countrymen, especially those Zimbabweans whose activities, views and opinions I would not appreciate, tolerate or accept and all the Zimbabweans in general, to say *I AM SORRY* for all the negative things I ever said, did or caused on you and your loved ones in any way that you may remember or have experienced.
It pains me to look back at my past and realise that so many times I overlooked your happiness in an attempt to make myself happy, only to realize that my happiness lies in yours.
I stand here to admit that a majority of times, I was selfish and self-centred and now feel ashamed of every negative thing I ever did, said or caused in my past.
I haven’t got any excuses for whatever that I did, said or caused in the past. I take full responsibility for myself and my actions. I will not pawn this off on anybody.
I am sorry it happened as I did hurt you directly or indirectly and in so many ways i.e. physically, emotionally or otherwise.
Having taken this decision, I would like to reiterate that it is possible to turn from our selfish ways and refocus our energies to collectively building a Zimbabwe where our children are guaranteed a prosperous future.
Personally, I have equally decided to take the conscious and deliberate decision to release my feelings of resentment, grudges, bitterness or vengeance towards those whom l felt offended me in any way in the past and I now feel relieved with my consciousness having been restored.
I have realised that if I continue to hold on to hurt, pain, bitterness, resentment and anger, it harms me more than it harms those whom I feel offended me.
I, therefore, decided to forgive those who offended me as this effectively brings healing and comfort to many of us as such a decision prevents and saves us from corrosive anger and negative emotions that may have a negative effect of polluting and defining us in the present and future.
I have learnt from my past and realised that any man who desires to revenge by killing another person should dig two graves as he will also die from his green wounds of bitterness and stressful life.
I, therefore, choose to live in the present where solutions will arise as I take lessons from my past experiences and commit to work and live in harmony with all progressive and peace-loving Zimbabweans.
Once again, I am sorry Zimbabwe and continue to beg for your pardon though l may not deserve it.
I know this might be a difficult proposition but I believe Zimbabwe stands to benefit more should we give chance and room to forgiveness, harmony, mutual tolerance, true love and mutual respect for each other.

Recently expelled former ZANU PF Youth League political commissar <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Godfrey_Tsenengamu" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Godfrey Tsenengamu</a> said fear reigns supreme within the ruling party.
Tsenengamu also criticised the government of President <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Emmerson_Mnangagwa" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Emmerson Mnangagwa</a> for its brutal crackdown on the opposition and civil society. He said:
<blockquote>I don’t know what they are afraid of. What I discovered while in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_African_National_Union_-_Patriotic_Front" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zanu PF</a> is that they are always afraid.
If you look at what they said before they got in power and what they are doing now, it is worlds apart. The crackdown on the opposition and civil society expose their fears.
The leaders whom we thought we knew before the new dispensation and those that are leading now are different.
Because they know that people are disgruntled they are always finding ways of silencing dissenting voices.</blockquote>
The firebrand politician claimed that party officials pretend to be united on the surface while they remain divided inside.

'ZANU PF Bigwigs Always Live In Fear Of The Unknown'

Former ZANU PF youth league secretary for the commissariat, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Godfrey_Tsenengamu" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Godfrey Tsenengamu</a> told the Daily News on Sunday that the centre can not hold anymore in his former party.
Tsenengamu asserted that not only is the ZANU PF leadership in flux but the grassroots as well. He said:
<blockquote>If you look at the party, it is not only the leadership but also … the grassroots that is in flux. We have a problem with the top leadership because they are not sincere and true to their words.
They are always playing games, playing hide and seek with each other. There is a lot of mistrust among the leadership. It is saddening that we might witness the same scenarios that we witnessed during the G40 (Generation 40) era.
This is the beginning of chaos in the party that has so many lawyers who chose to ignore their own constitution and ignore corruption.
There is a lot that is happening in the party that shows clearly that the centre can longer hold.</blockquote>
Tsenengamu was fired from ZANU PF last Wednesday by the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zanu-PF_Politiburo" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">politburo</a>. He had earlier refused to undergo ideological reorientation and also went as far as accusing President Emmerson Mnangagwa of reneging on his earlier promises when he came to power on the back of a military coup in 2017.

The President has fired suspended Zanu PF youth league <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Godfrey_Tsenengamu">Godfrey Tsenengamu</a> New Zimbabwe reports. Tsenengamu was fired this afternoon after a politburo meeting.
According to the publication:
<blockquote>Tsenengamu was fired after Wednesday’s during the party’s Politburo meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Harare and chaired by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“Expelled,” posted Tsenengamu on his Facebook page soon after the ruling.</blockquote>
A statement released by Obert Mpofu over the sacking of Tsenengamu reads:
<blockquote>A unanimous resolution was passed today by the Politburo on the 4th of March 2020 at the 337th ordinary session of the Politburo that the former youth secretary for Commissariat Godfrey Tsenengamu be expelled with immediate effect due to his intransigence and continued disparaging of senior party members</blockquote>
