South African opposition political party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has demanded the return of the Star of Africa which it claimed was stolen by the British monarchy.
The EFF made the demand on Saturday, 06 May to coincide with the coronation of King Charles III.
In a statement, EFF also castigated African leaders who attended Charles’ coronation, saying they were further endorsing the oppression of Africans under the banner of trade. Reads the statement:

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) reiterates its demand for the return of the stolen Star of Africa from the internationalist mafia, the British monarchy.
The largest diamond, known as the Star of Africa is set in the British monarch’s sceptre and Imperial State Crown.
Today, 116 years later, the King of England, Charles III continues in the pompous steps of his predecessors flaunting the stolen Star of Africa at his coronation.
Apartheid criminal, Louis Botha handed over the Star of Africa to the ruthless British colonisers in 1907.
Botha was a well-known apartheid criminal who had no legitimacy to hand over the Star of Africa.
The British monarchy had no dignified grounds to accept it, let alone still parade it as British glory 116 years later.
The British monarchy continue to live in the grandeur of African wealth – all this, while African children die of starvation.
Charles III is firmly on track of his predecessors as he parades the fruits of their brutal legacy of dehumanization of millions of people across the world.
The attendance of the ANC Government at the coronation legitimatises the brutality of the British monarchy against the very people it is elected to serve.
Instead of vigorously pursuing justice, the return of stolen jewels and repatriations, it is scrambling for a bus ride and a back-row seat at the coronation of the unrepentant Charles III.
The presence of African leaders at the coronation is an endorsement of further oppression of Africans under the banner of trade.
There will be no fair trade as long as justice, the return of stolen jewels and repartitions are not pursued by African states.
It is only an EFF Government that will fearlessly pursue justice and repartitions from the former heinous colonisers.
The dignity of Africans will be restored in 2024 by the EFF Government.

The Star of Africa diamond, also known as the Cullinan diamond, is one of the largest diamonds ever discovered.
It was found in 1905 in the Premier Mine in South Africa and weighed 3,106 carats. The diamond was named after Sir Thomas Cullinan, who owned the mine at the time.
The Star of Africa was eventually cut into several smaller diamonds, with the largest being known as the Cullinan I or the Great Star of Africa.
This diamond weighs 530.4 carats and is set in the head of the Sovereign’s Sceptre with a Cross, which is part of the British Crown Jewels.

EFF Demands Return Of Star Of Africa Diamond From British Monarchy

South African opposition party, EFF, has condemned the deployment of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) across the country by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The deployment of more than 4 000 soldiers under Operation Prosper from 17 March to 17 April was announced on Sunday, just hours before the national shutdown announced by EFF commences.
EFF led by Julius Malema called for a national shutdown to protest continuing load shedding and call for Ramaphosa to resign.
In a statement issued on Sunday evening, EFF said it rejected the deployment of the army, “South Africa has degenerated into a military state”. Reads the statement:

This act demonstrates the bloodthirsty nature of the current government and the intolerance of the ruling party to dissent and opposition.
South Africa has degenerated into a military state, and the deployment of the army to suppress the Constitutional Right to protest, means we have returned to the dark days of Apartheid.
The current deployment of the army and law enforcement agencies has surpassed that of the Apartheid regime in the 1980s during the State of Emergency, meaning that Ramaphosa has declared war on the people of South Africa.
The scenes of military personnel descending into the townships of South Africa, policemen searching the homes and cars of citizens without warrants or just cause, and shutting down tyre shops reveal a paranoid government that is capable of grave human rights violations.
The international community ought to pay close attention to South Africa on the 20th of March 2023, because the government of South Africa has prepared itself to commit a massacre in defence of a corrupt President.
The EFF calls on the people of South Africa to come out in their numbers and join the National Shutdown.

South Africa Has Returned To The Dark Days Of Apartheid - EFF

South African opposition party, EFF, is planning a national shutdown on 20 March 2023 to protest continuing load shedding and call for President Cyril Ramaphosa to resign.
EFF leader Julius Malema announced the planned protest late last month, saying the Zuma Must Fall protest will look like “Micky Mouse”. Said Malema:

The national shutdown means that there will be no school, no university, factories and no business will be operating on that day.
All municipalities and all major cities will be shut down and there will be no work on that day. All major roads will be barricaded and all ports of entry, including roads that lead to borders, will be closed…
No business operations will be opened on that day and no truck, and no train will be allowed on the roads and railways, particularly the trucks transporting South Africa’s minerals and coal outside South Africa through Richards Bay.

“Zuma Must Fall” was a march by thousands of South Africans in 2015 calling for then-President Jacob Zuma to resign after he fired two finance ministers in one week which led the rand to tumble to record lows.
Meanwhile, Malema said streets would only remain open for emergency and essential services during the national shutdown.
The EFF said it will also be protesting against the rising cost of living, unemployment and poverty, increasing crime levels, corruption and collapsing infrastructure.
On 20 March, the EFF national leadership plans to march to the Union Buildings to hand over their demands.
EFF said it will reveal the next step on the day if Ramaphosa does not resign.

EFF Plans To Shutdown South Africa On 20 March

South Africa’s second-largest opposition party, EFF, has said the death of Hip Hop artist and producer, Kienarn Forbes, popularly known as AKA, has taken a generation of Hip Hop backward.
AKA was shot dead in a drive-by shooting on Florida Road in Durban on Friday night. 
He was shot along with his long-time friend Tebello Motsoane, popularly known as Tibz.
In a statement this Saturday, the EFF said AKA was an inspiration to the thousands of young people, especially in the Cape Flats of the City of Cape Town. Reads the statement:

AKA's Death Has Taken A Generation Of Hip Hop Backwards - EFF

EFF deputy leader Floyd Shivambu, a Kaizer Chiefs supporter, agrees with ex-Chiefs and Bafana Bafana footballer Jabu Mahlangu’s claims that Mamelodi Sundowns are “destroying South African football”, <a href="https://www.timeslive.co.za/sport/soccer/2023-01-27-football-must-be-balanced-shivambu-agrees-with-mahlangu-sundowns-is-destroying-sa-football/">reported TimesLive</a>.
Mahlangu made the claims in a video posted on Twitter this week, where he criticised the standard of the DStv Premier Soccer League football. He also accused Sundowns of “hoarding” players.
Shivambu concurred with Mahlangu, saying “hoarding brilliant players is unethical”. Said Shivambu:

Reacting to Chiefs’ 1-0 loss to Sundowns in the DStv Premiership, Mahlangu opined that Sundowns are killing Bafana Bafana. He said:

We suggested the fair play issue in the PSL. Whether Sundowns fans or not, everyone wants their team to win all the time, but what’s happening now is killing our national team.
They claim they want to help Bafana Bafana get to the top. It’s not possible because our best players are at one team and they are not playing.
How are we going to improve? I don’t want to compare, but Manchester City didn’t buy all the top players in the Premier League.
They are a good team but the league is still competitive. I’m not comparing, I’m just making sense.

Mahlangu said something should be done, adding that even “Sundowns know what they are doing is destroying South African football”.
Sundowns have won the league <a href="https://www.worldfootball.net/winner/rsa-premier-soccer-league/">in the past five seasons</a> (2018-2022) and two of the titles in the preceding four seasons (2014 and 2016).
Kaizer Chiefs won the league in 2013 while Bidvest Wits won it in 2015.

Mamelodi Sundowns Accused Of 'Destroying SA Football'

South Africa’s second-largest opposition party, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has condemned the assassination of Eswatini human rights lawyer, Thulani Rudolf Maseko, on Saturday in his home country.
Maseko was gunned down by unknown gunmen at his home in Luyendo in Eswatini on Saturday evening.
In a statement issued on Sunday, 22 January 2023, the Julius Malema-led party accused King Mswati III’s government of being behind Maseko’s “merciless killing”. Reads the statement:

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) condemns the assassination of human rights lawyer and Chairperson of the Multi-Stakeholder Forum (MSF), comrade Thulani Rudolf Maseko who was gunned down at his home in Luyendo in Eswatini.
The killing occurs amidst the ongoing targeting of those who are calling for democracy, by the murderous monarch of Eswatini, Mswati Comrade Maseko was a courageous defender of democracy and a voice of reason for the defenceless people of eSwatini.

South Africa's EFF Condemns Assassination Of A Human Rights Lawyer In Eswatini

The leader of the opposition Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Zimbabwe party, Innocent Ndibali, has urged the government to ban the sale of illicit alcohol popularly known as “njengu” on the streets.
Ndibali said njengu is destroying the lives of both young and old people in both rural and urban areas.
Njengu has flooded many townships across the country in recent years and is sold for US$1.
Imbibers also prefer the illicit brew due to its high alcohol content, which is said to be 40 percent.
Addressing the media in Bulawayo recently, Ndibali warned that if nothing is done to ban the sale of njengu, “people are going to be falling like flies” in the next few years. He said:

Our community is dying, people are killing themselves because of this thing where you hear people asking each other, ‘ikhona yini’ (is it available) or you hear them say, ‘ulayo’ (do you have it).’
They are talking about njengu. Njengu is killing our parents in the villages, our brothers and sisters across the country.
The government must do something and very quickly. You may not see the harm that is happening caused by njengu.
It started about three to five years ago but in the next 10 years you will see people are going to be falling like flies because of this njengu.
Please leave njengu alone because you are going to die and leave your children. Njengu is destroying communities.

EFF Zimbabwe Urges Govt To Ban "Njengu"

South Africa’s second-largest opposition political party, EFF led by Julius Malema, says it will not mourn the death of the British Queen, Elizabeth II, as she never apologised for the plunder of African resources and the brutal killings of millions of African people by the British during the colonial era.
Queen Elizabeth II, the United Kingdom’s longest-serving monarch, died on Thursday afternoon at Balmoral, Scotland, aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.
In a statement issued by National Spokesperson, Sinawo Thambo on Thursday, the party said that if indeed there is life after death, Elizabeth and her ancestors should be punished for their crimes. Reads the statement:

The Economic Freedom Fighters notes the death of Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, the Queen of the United Kingdom, and the ceremonial head of state of several countries that were colonized by the United Kingdom.
Elizabeth ascended to the throne in 1952, reigning for 70 years as a head of an institution built up, sustained, and living off a brutal legacy of dehumanization of millions of people across the world.
We do not mourn the death of Elizabeth, because to us her death is a reminder of a very tragic period in this country and Africa’s history.
Britain, under the leadership of the royal family, took over control of this territory that would become South Africa in 1795 from Batavian control and took permanent control of the territory in 1806.
From that moment onwards, native people of this land have never known peace, nor have they ever enjoyed the fruits of the riches of this land, riches which were and still are utilized for the enrichment of the British royal family and those who look like them.
From 1811 when Sir John Cradock declared war against amaXhosa in the Zuurveld in what is now known as the Eastern Cape up until 1906 when the British crushed the Bambatha rebellion, our interaction with Britain under the leadership of the British royal family has been one of pain and suffering, of death and dispossession, and of dehumanization of African people.
We remember how Nxele died in the aftermath of the fifth frontier war, how King Hintsa was killed like a dog on the 11th of May 1835 during the sixth frontier war and had his body mutilated, and his head taken to Britain as a trophy.
It was also the British royal family that sanctioned the actions of Cecil John Rhodes, who plundered this country, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
It was the British royal family that benefited from the brutal mutilation of the people of Kenya whose valiant resistance to British colonialism invited vile responses from Britain.
In Kenya, Britain built concentration camps and suppressed with such inhumane brutality the Mau Mau rebellion, killing Dedan Kimathi on the 18th of February 1957, while Elizabeth was already Queen.
This family plundered India via the East India Company, it took over control and oppressed the people of the Caribbean Islands.
Their thirst for riches led to the famine that caused millions of people to die in Bengal, and their racism led to the genocide of aboriginal people in Australia.
Elizabeth Windsor, during her lifetime, never acknowledged these crimes that Britain and her family in particular perpetrated across the world.
In fact, she was a proud flag bearer of these atrocities during her reign. When the people of Yemen rose to protest against British colonialism in 1963, Elizabeth ordered a brutal suppression of that uprising.
During her 70-year reign as Queen, she never once acknowledge the atrocities that her family inflicted on native people that Britain invaded across the world.
She willingly benefited from the wealth that was attained from the exploitation and murder of millions of people across the world.
The British Royal family stands on the shoulders of millions of slaves who were shipped away from the continent to serve the interests of racist white capital accumulation, at the centre of which lies the British royal family.
If there is real life and justice after death, may Elizabeth and her ancestors get what they deserve.

Queen Elizabeth Must Be Punished For Her "Crimes" In The After-life - EFF

Julius Malema, the leader of the South African opposition party, EFF, has told party members to avoid becoming part of the narrative that Zimbabwean nationals are stealing jobs from South Africans.
Speaking at an EFF provincial conference in Klerksdorp, North West on Sunday, Malema said EFF members should focus on the land issue and occupy strategic positions in the economy instead of yearning to be employed by white people. Said Malema:

Today, you are fighting with Zimbabweans. You are all fighting to be negros. You are fighting to work for a white man.

We will be the owners of the land and we will produce for ourselves and for all.

Malema’s speech comes after Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi granted Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) another six months to regularise their stay in South Africa.
Meanwhile, Operation Dudula, an anti-immigrant group in South Africa, said the extension of ZEPs is an insult to South Africans.
Operation Dudula’s Kwena Molekwa said they can’t continue to feel sorry for Zimbabweans considering that almost half of South Africans are unemployed.

Julius Malema, the leader of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), a South African opposition party, has called upon Zimbabweans living in the neighbouring country to go home and vote in the 2023 harmonised elections and remove ZANU PF.

EFF NOTES THE CANCELLATION OF THE 30 JUNE BY-ELECTIONS

The EFF notes the cancellation of the by-elections, which were set to take place on the 30th of June, by the Independent Elections Commission (IEC).
The EFF has been the only consistent and decisive political organization when it comes to elections and the prioritization of saving lives.
Many have deliberately vulgarized and misrepresented our view, by claiming that the EFF is not ready to contest.
To their disappointment, we have demonstrated over the past weeks and months, that we are the most vibrant and mobilized political organization in South Africa.
Our view is solely grounded on the preservation of life and putting the well-being of South Africans ahead of political interests.
No single vote can ever be more important than the life of that voter. Elections do not happen on the day of voting, alone.
The consequence of Elections, particularly in a developing nation like South Africa, is continued face to face interaction with different communities across the country months before the voting day.
A caring government, which is led by science, not euphoria, would never risk the lives of South Africans by creating an environment for mass spreader events.
Elections are a mass spreader event. No thinking person can disagree with this objective truth.
There can be no effective election programme without large crowds, rallies, door to door campaigns etc.
We supported the lockdown, and even donated the most to the Solidarity Fund, out of all government officials and political organizations.
This reaffirms that our commitment to saving lives transcends empty rhetoric. We put all our efforts and resources where our mouth is.
We also want to warn Cyril Ramaphosa that we will never allow him to stifle political engagement and activity, through harsh lockdowns, whilst at the same time push for the continuation of elections.
Every week he uses the public broadcaster to pursue his propaganda, and blackmail South Africans with Nelson Mandela quotes.
We will never allow the ANC to be the only voice that speaks in South Africa, and the only organization which hosts gatherings.
We will continue to mobilize all stakeholders against the unscientific autocracy of the stepchild of Monopoly Capital and Stellenbosch.
Lockdowns must be accompanied by a substantive plan to vaccinate our people. Lockdowns must also be accompanied by the cancellation and or postponement of elections.
We also reiterate our call for the 2021 Local Government Elections to be postponed and synchronized with National Government Elections.
Synchronization is the most advanced and futuristic ideal because political organizations never have time to efficiently do the work of government as a result of being in a constant state of campaigning.
We call on IEC to divorce its unholy marriage with the African National Congress. The commission must be allowed to apply its mind independently, guided by science, not political favours and expediency.
If the conditions which led to the cancellation of the 30 June by-elections are the same as those of the 27 October LGE, then there can be no sensible reason to cancel the one, but pursue the other.

EFF Zimbabwe has confirmed their national chairperson, Shelton Chiyangwa voted in the court-sanctioned chaotic  MDC T Congress on Sunday and reportedly voted in favor of Douglas Mwonzora, New Zimbabwe reports.
This was reportedly confirmed by EFF Zimbabwe outgoing president Innocent Ndibali who told the publication that:
<blockquote>Our member participated at the MDC-T congress and even moved a motion for Mwonzora’s confirmation as the MDC -T president, We are not even aware of his resignation as a member of the EFF Zimbabwe, yet he voted and even went on to move a motion to validate the outcome of the MDC-T congress.</blockquote>
The publication alleges that Chiyangwa’s participation in the election gives credence to vote-rigging allegations by some members of the MDC T:
<blockquote>EFF Zimbabwe claims seem to give credence to the allegations that bogus voters were smuggled from Manicaland, Harare, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland Central provinces to vote for Mwonzora in the election whose outcome has been out rightly rejected by other the participating candidates.</blockquote>
Khupe has rejected the outcome of the election and even fired the winner Douglas Mwoznora from the party. However her lawyer <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/12/30/madhuku-throws-khupe-under-the-bus/">Lovemore Madhuku has said Mwonzora is the elected leader for now</a> till the election is set aside by a competent court.

A leader of a South African opposition party has urged Zimbabwean youths to take action and extricate themselves from the authoritarian ZANU PF-leg government.
Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema warned Zimbabwean youths that tweeting will not bring about the Zimbabwe they want.
Addressing party supporters who had gathered for a Women’s Day event close to the grave of anti-apartheid icon Winnie Mandela on Saturday, the outspoken politician said:
<blockquote>We are here at Mama’s grave to talk about the rights of women, yet just next door in Zimbabwe the rights of the people are being violated, worse the rights of women.
They abduct children from the streets, particularly girl children, rape them in the bush. Police and soldiers have become a law onto themselves. Mnangagwa has become a pig and is eating his own children in Zimbabwe.</blockquote>
Malema urged Zimbabweans to stop social media activism and close the country’s borders, pledging his support for such actions. He said:
<blockquote>Zimbabweans are not cowards. Zimbabweans have fought before. Why is the youth of Zimbabwe fighting through (social media) hashtags? Why is the youth of Zimbabwe fighting from South Africa and London?
Why are they not occupying the borders of Zimbabwe there in Musina and we will support them and say no car goes into Zimbabwe and no car comes out of Zimbabwe until the rights of our people are restored?
Why is the youth of Zimbabwe not rising in Zimbabwe and face death because they are already dead?</blockquote>
Malema was expelled from the African National Congress (ANC) in February 2012 alongside  Floyd Shivambu and Sindiso Magaqa. The three were leaders in the ANC youth league at the time of their expulsion.

Malema Urges Zimbabweans To Blockade Border 'Until Their Rights Are Restored'

Commander-in-chief of South African opposition party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema, has called for the closure of the Zimbabwean Embassy in South Africa until the Zimbabwean government respects citizens’ rights.
Malema warned that failure to do so, the EFF will prevent Zimbabwean government officials from participating in any gathering in South Africa. <a href="https://twitter.com/Julius_S_Malema/status/1290340485291220992" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Said Malema</a>:
<blockquote>We call for the removal of the Zimbabwean Embassy in SA until they restore the human rights in that country. Failure to do so, we will prevent any official from the Zimbabwean government from participating in any gathering in SA until they respect ordinary Zimbabweans.</blockquote>
This comes a day after the Zimbabwe Embassy in South Africa issued a statement denouncing the EFF and calling the party “mischievous”.
In the statement issued on Sunday, the Zimbabwean Embassy in South Africa castigated the EFF after it spoke strongly against the Emmerson Mnangagwa-led administration’s decision to compensate white former commercial farmers. Part of the statement read:

Malema's Party Threatens To Block ZANU PF Officials From Entering South Africa

The Economic Freedom Fighters has noted the empty condemnation against CIC Julius Malema by a paranoid and misguided ZANU-PF Embassy and party leadership. 
This comes after the EFF issued a statement questioning the political and economic logic of compensating white former land-owners for land acquired through the Fast-Track Land Reform Program. 
Instead of providing logic for this regression on land-reform, ZANU-PF party leaders have gone on a tirade that simply confirms that the decision comes as a result of succumbing to political pressure and a lack of understanding of the revolutionary history of Zimbabwe.
The Zimbabwean government, which is currently engaged in the torture, incarceration, sexual assault and victimisation of protesters, has no moral authority or standing to claim to speak on behalf of the people of Zimbabwe. 
This government, which is compensating land thieves for land which was acquired through a revolutionary process, has declared the people of Zimbabwe as enemies, through the deployment of the military to suppress genuine protest. 
Journalists are targeted, and it is not the first time, as the Mnangagwa regime has a history of suppressing information, switching of social networks in order to hide the brutalisations of the people of Zimbabwe.
The EFF, therefore, as a movement committed to Pan-African unity, peace and stability in the continent, speaks with authority when it condemns the regression on revolutionary gains that have defined post-colonial Africa. 
The fleeting paranoia of ZANU-PF around factions of their organisation does not concern us, and we must never be confused as a part of a faction of ZANU-PF. 
The EFF does not owe ZANU-PF any allegiance, and we have now identified them as part of a long-line of oppressive regimes and failing liberation movements which no longer have a vision for the continent.
We are therefore not fazed by the utterances of ZANU-PF officials and reiterate that compensating white former land-owners is a reactionary move that Zimbabwe cannot afford, and these funds should rather be directed in uplifting the livelihoods of ordinary poor Zimbabweans and developing Zimbabwe.
Furthermore, we find it condescending that a diplomat, deployed to the Zimbabwean Embassy in South Africa has taken it upon himself to descend into the political arena with the EFF.
 As much as the EFF encourages engagement of its policy positions, it is not the duty of an ambassador who is here to sustain relations between two sovereign governments to engage in a political tussle with domestic opposition parties. 
We condemn this in the strongest terms as partisan and undiplomatic behaviour, and it will set a bad precedence for the future.
The ZANU-PF government and particularly the Zimbabwean embassy in South Africa must focus on putting an end to the violence in Zimbabwe instead of frivolous paranoia around G40 factions and the EFF.
We call on the African Union, and all governments in the SADC region to make an intervention in the crimes against humanity being committed by the Mnangagwa-regime against the people of Zimbabwe.
These interventions must be tangible, and we, therefore, call for the removal of the Zimbabwean Embassy in South Africa until human rights are restored in the country, and the lives of people are not taken by a repressive government.
Failure to do this will result in direct action by the EFF to prevent any official of the Zimbabwean government from participating in meeting in South Africa while they wage war on ordinary people in Zimbabwe.
Quiet diplomacy by SADC towards human rights violations in Zimbabwe has never worked, and it will not start working now. 
There must be an end to the arrest without trial and victimisation of activists, and all progressive forces must condemn the ZANU-PF government for the brutality it is practising on the people of Zimbabwe.
We cannot keep quiet while a military regime wages war on people in Zimbabwe.

FULL TEXT: Malema Urges AU, SADC To Censure ZANU PF, Demands Closure Of Zim Embassy In SA

<blockquote>1. The Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the Republic of South Africa read with consternation and utter disbelief the “EFF Statement on the Announcement by the President of Zimbabwe on Compensating White Farmers” issued on 31 July 2020.
2. The Embassy has, in the past, restrained itself from responding to the many provocative statements issued by the EFF about Zimbabwe.
On this occasion, we cannot remain silent in the face of the EFF’s pretentiousness to know more about the history and politics of Zimbabwe than the Zimbabweans themselves.
Even more, the EFF has the audacity to dare teach Zimbabweans, even our Head of State, about the land question in our country.
Not only did thousands of our compatriots pay the supreme sacrifice for the return of the land to its rightful owners but even today our people suffer the burden of sanctions imposed by those opposed to our land reform programme.
3. For the record, the provisions of the Global Compensation Deed Agreement signed on 29 July 2020 between the Government of Zimbabwe and representatives of the former commercial farmers fully adhere to the Constitution of the Republic of Zimbabwe, in particular, Section 72 which deals with “Rights to Agricultural Land”.
That section stipulates in paragraph 3 (a) that where agricultural land is compulsorily acquired for a public purpose, no compensation is payable in respect of its acquisition, except for improvements effected on it before its acquisition.
This is what the signed compensation agreement of 29 July 2020 provides for. The government of Zimbabwe will compensate the former farmers for the improvements on the acquired land ONLY. No more. There is nothing treasonous in upholding one’s own national constitution.
4. It will be recalled that the Constitution of Zimbabwe was approved by 95% of voters 
in a referendum held in 2013 and was assented to and signed into law by the then Head of State, the late Comrade Robert G. Mugabe, on 22 May 2013.
It is highly mischievous of the EFF to attempt to rewrite history by seeking to distance the legacy of the late Head of State from the 2013 Constitution whose provisions circumscribe the agreement signed on 29 July 2020.
5. The government will work in close partnership with the farmers and multilateral and bilateral donors in mobilizing the $3.5 billion required in compensation for the improvements on the acquired land.
6. His Excellency President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa has been consistent and firm on the land issue. He has, on countless occasions, reiterated that the land reform is irreversible and that Section 72 of the Constitution is very clear in this regard.
In his own words, he has been very clear that “we fought for land and there is no way we will retract our position with regards to the land reform”.
7. The signing of this global compensation agreement is a significant step in the coming together of Zimbabweans in efforts to bring to finality a long outstanding, highly emotive and divisive issue. This agreement should be welcomed by those who genuinely wish Zimbabwe well.
8. It is our expectation that the EFF and others who may wish to comment on the land issues in Zimbabwe do so from an informed, objective and constructive standpoint that respects the people of Zimbabwe’s struggles and sacrifices for their land and contributes to the unity and progress of the country.

The government has responded to the party lead by Julius Malema, EFF, ‘s statement on the $3.5 billion compensation package signed between the government and the white farmers earlier this week, The Herald reports. EFF released a statement <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/07/31/malema-led-eff-says-mnangagwas-treasonous-act-will-not-resolve-the-zimbabwean-crisis-as-zimbabwe-compensate-white-farmers/">criticising the decision made by the government to compensate white farmers</a> and said the government was insulting those who had fought for freedom in the liberation struggle.
Responding to the firebrand EFF leader’s party Information Ministry’s Nick Mangwana said the government was following the constitution and said:
<blockquote>The compensation of the said farmers is in line with the Zimbabwe Constitution, overwhelmingly voted for by the majority of Zimbabweans, political leaders across the divide included.
Specifically, Chapter 16, Section 295 Sub Section 3, as read with Section 72 Sub Section 3 (a), obligates the State to pay compensation for improvements that were on land when such land was acquired.</blockquote>
Mangwana also labelled the statement offensive and said:
<blockquote>Government also takes offence at the uncouth but unsurprising attacks on the person of President Mnangagwa by Malema who appears to be under the illusion that vulgarity is an ideology. We therefore wish to remind Mr Malema that Zimbabwe is not a province of South Africa or one of his shacks and he should leave Zimbabweans to deal with Zimbabwean issues.
While Zimbabwe welcomes any counsel from its neighbours, Government is of the view that Malema, as one of the opposition leaders in South Africa, is better occupied tackling challenges in his own country rather than pronouncing himself on matters he is not well versed with in Zimbabwe.</blockquote>

South Africa’s opposition party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has characterised the Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan as dangerous and called for his resignation.
EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said Gordhan has been the worst-performing cabinet minister in the past 12 months:

The EFF made the call for Gordhan’s resignation on Saturday after Eskom chair Jabu Mabuza stepped aside from his role.
The country’s power utility Eskom has been facing financial challenges over the past few years with matters coming to a head towards the end of 2019 when it had to implement load shedding at Stage Six for the first time in its history.

The EFF condemns the eNCA for its racist treatment of African journalists. In a tweet, one of its managers called a journalist Samkele Maseko a rat on social media, after firing him.
We also have reliable information that eNCA placed Khayelihle Khumalo under suspension for tweeting about the EFF Second National People’s Assembly (NPA) from his personal account.
The EFF condemns these actions as a sign of total deterioration of leadership, principles and ethics within the eNCA. In fact, when it comes to the EFF, the institution has become personal.
It is a fact that the eNCA was always looking for a way to avoid covering the EFF Second NPA. This is because from day one, when all other broadcasters built set onsite, eNCA never built a set or brought any technical equipment signifying their full commitment to cover the EFF Second NPA.
Their withdrawal must be seen for what it truly represents: an attempt to silence the EFF. South Africans must unite in totally boycotting eNCA, both from watching it and attending to its news requests and events. No one must call an African child a rat in our country and it just becomes business as usual.
It is also shocking how silent and completely absent SANEF is in dealing with the eNCA and its abuse of journalists.
In particular, the racism expressed by its manager (possibly head of news) Kanthan Pillay, who is a leader of Purple Cow, a political party registered with IEC.
Had it been a white journalist who was treated the way Samkele Maseko and Khayelihle Khumalo testified, SANEF would be vocal and even calling on immediate investigations.
Their silence must be read as being complicit with racism and total disregard of journalistic ethics when it comes to African people.

Robert Mugabe’s nephew and former minister <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Patrick_Zhuwao">Patrick Zhuwao</a>, attended the elective conference and was present during Malema’s address.
Over the past several weeks, former Zanu PF Commissar during Mugabe’s presidency, <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2019/12/13/kasukuwere-says-he-will-heed-citizens-call-to-lead-zimbabwe/">Savior Kasukuwere, launched a campaign to participate as a presidential candidate in the 2023 elections</a>. South African opposition party, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has taken credit for the government of Zimbabwe’s climbdown on its position to bury the late former president <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Robert_Mugabe" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Robert Mugabe</a> at the National Heroes Acre.

WATCH: Tyson Should Have Succeeded Mugabe - Malema

South Africa’s opposition Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has wished former President Robert Mugabe a speedy recovery.
Posting on its official Twitter handle, South Africa’s most radical party said:

President Mnangagwa on Monday revealed that President Mugabe is in Singapore where he is receiving treatment since April.
The former President is said to be recovering well and is set to return home soon.

Julius Malema's Party Wishes Mugabe Speedy Recovery

US-based South African, Tevor Noah, who hosts the popular Daily Show on American TV has come under attack for unfairly portraying Julius Malema as genocidal.

Trevor Noah says during his show:

The reactions to the video have been mixed with some referring to it as funny. Some, however, have said that Trevor should have known better not to play into a narrative that incorrectly portrays white people in South Africa as victims of an ongoing genocide.
Julius Malema himself dismissed Noah as being part of the ANC election campaign.
