The <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Zimbabwe Republic</a> Police has expressed concern about the increasing number of <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">murder cases</a> across the country, particularly those resulting from <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">domestic violence</a> due to accusations of infidelity. 
<a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">National police spokesperson</a>, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, released a statement citing several recent cases. One involved a woman who died after being struck with an axe by her husband, who accused her of having an extra-marital affair. Another case involved a woman who was found dead in a shallow grave after being allegedly assaulted by her husband. In another incident, a man was stabbed to death by a group of suspects.
In a statement seen by Pindula News, Nyathi urged the public to value the sanctity of human life and seek peaceful ways of resolving their differences. They also encourage couples to seek counselling from local police stations, traditional leaders, or church elders. The <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Zimbabwe Republic Police</a> is deeply concerned about the trend of violence and urges individuals to find peaceful ways to resolve disputes. We present the police statement below:

<h2>MURDER CASES DUE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE</h2>
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is concerned with the number of murder cases being recorded throughout the country on weekly basis. Most of these cases are mainly attributed to domestic violence arising from accusations of infidelity on the part of couples.
In one of the murder cases, Nyarai Masauso (41) died on 28′ May 2023 whilst admitted at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals after being struck with an axe several times on thighs and stomach by her husband only identified as Muridzi, after a dispute on 26′ May 2023 at Watyoka Mine, Watakai, Concession. The suspect had accused the victim of having an extra marital affair. The suspect is on the run.
In another case which occurred on 27th May 2023, Sikhangezile Tshuma (39) was found dead with bruises all over the body and a deep cut on the forehead, in a shallow grave which was covered with a cloth, in a bushy area near Gulalikabili Line, Tsholotsho. The victim was allegedly last seen arguing with her husband, Darlington Sibanda (36) at Patalika Business Centre on 26′ May 2023. Darlington Sibanda had accused the victim of having an extra marital affair.
On 28 May 2023 at Flem Flora Farm, New Parliament, Mt Hampden, Harare, Alexandra Gezi (52) struck his wife, Rita Rore (42) with a hoe on the head several times after accusing her of infidelity. The victim was found dead with deep cuts on the head after her daughter had alerted neighbours of the attack.
Meanwhile, police in Fort Rixon are investigating a case of murder which occurred on 27th May 2023 at a shop at 99 Village, 5 Kombo. The suspects identified as, Bethod Mthembu, Nkosi Mpofu, Arnold Sibanda and a male juvenile (17) took turns to assault the victim, Readman Ndlovu (46) with open hands before Bethod Mthembu stabbed the victim with Columbian knife on the chest. The victim died on the spot.
In Gweru, Police have arrested Darlington Tshuma (29) in connection with a cases of murder and attempted murder which occurred on 27th May 2023 in a bushy area near Matambo Business Centre, Matobo. The suspect and Moses Moyo (31) stabbed Jefta Mkwananzi (22) with a Colombian knife on right thigh before stabbing Fana Ntini (19) with the knife on the stomach. Fana Ntini died on the spot whilst Jefta Mkwananzi sustained a cut on the thigh and is admitted at Gweru Provincial Hospital.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police implores the public to value the sanctity of human life and resolve differences amicably without resorting to violence. We urge couples to seek counseling from local Police Stations, traditional leaders and church elders to find peaceful ways of resolving differences.

Zimbabwe Police Worried About Rise In Domestic Violence And Murder

A 40-year-old man from Sakubva in Mutare died after he fell off from the fourth floor of Matida Flats while wrestling with his lover’s estranged husband.
Tawanda Chirenje (25) allegedly caught the now-deceased Gift Saungweme in a compromising position with his wife, Phillipa Dariyani (25).
Saungweme and Dariyani were at a friend’s apartment.
ZRP spokesperson in Manicaland Province, Inspector Nobert Muzondo, said police have launched a manhunt for Chirenje. He said:

Chirenje had caught Dariyani drinking beer with Saungweme in a friend’s apartment. He assaulted her with the flat side of a machete, booted feet, and fists and proceeded to assault Saungweme.
They wrestled towards an open window and as they wrestled, Saungweme fell off the window from the fourth floor. He sustained head injuries and died on Monday morning.
We are treating the matter as a murder incident as the circumstances are all pointing that way.
As the police, we urge people not to take the law into their own hands and not to use violence when such matters arise.

Dariyami’s friend, Shallon Maisera, in whose apartment the two lovebirds were caught red-handed, told <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/cheat-falls-from-4th-floor-window/">The Manica Post</a> that she had been drinking with Dariyami and Saungweme at the bar that night. She said:
<blockquote>
I offered them my apartment because her children were sleeping in her apartment, which is on the third floor.
The three of us had been drinking in my apartment when Saungweme sent me to buy more beer and it was already past midnight.
When I came back, I was shocked to find Chirenje inside my apartment with the lovebirds.
Dariyani was crying and begging Chirenje to forgive her. I knocked and Chirenje opened the door for me.
He told me that he had caught the two in bed and that he wanted to kill them. I tried to stop him but he pushed and locked me outside.
Shortly afterward, he came out and told me that Saungweme had jumped off the window. He then walked away after that.

Maisera said Dariyami was assaulted all over her body with the machete.
She said when they rushed downstairs, Saungweme who was still alive but badly injured asked for some water. Said Maisera:

I asked him if he had been pushed off the window or if he had jumped but he kept saying ‘pakaipa’ so we rushed him to the hospital where he died later on.

Man Falls From 4th Floor Fighting Off Lover's Husband

A Filabusi couple allegedly chained up, tortured their maid (19) and poured boiling water on her genitals for allegedly stealing US$200.
On 31 January 2022, Thembelani Moyo (28) and Sibongile Mpofu (28) who stay at Vukuzenzele village in Filabusi and work at Senga Hill Mill Mine discovered that US$200 which they had kept in their wardrobe was missing.
The two allegedly assaulted their housemaid- who cannot be named for ethical reasons- but she denied seeing the money, let alone stealing it.
However, after she had been savagely beaten up, the maid confessed that she had stolen the money and had already spent US$169 and was left with US$31.
It is alleged that a neighbour, Simangaliso Moyo, arrived at the scene with a sjambok and whipped the chained teen.
Mpofu then allegedly boiled water which she poured onto the half-dead maid’s private parts, saying that was to stop her from having sex with any man.
After assaulting the maid, the couple reported her to the police for theft leading to her arrest.
The maid pleaded guilty to theft when she appeared before Filabusi magistrate Abednico Ndebele but also exposed the abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of her employers.
Moyo admitted that they had chained her to stop her from running away.
The magistrate ordered that the teenager must be examined by a State doctor and remanded her out of custody.
While she was out of custody, the maid reported the couple and Simangaliso to the police, for assaulting her and scalding her on her private parts with hot water.
A medical report detailing the extent of the injuries on the maid’s privates was availed in her second court appearance.
The maid was sentenced to six months in prison by magistrate Ndebele.
However, four months of the sentence were suspended for three years on condition that she does not commit an offence involving dishonesty.
The remaining two months were also suspended on condition that she restitutes the US$169.
The couple and their neighbour were arrested for assault and appeared before Filabusi magistrate Sukoluhle Belinda Nunu last Wednesday.

Couple Chains, Scalds, And Sjamboks Thieving Housemaid

A police officer based in Bulawayo on Monday shot and killed an unarmed man who was a suspect in a domestic violence case.
The man, Thembani Dube, was fleeing from the police when he was shot in the back of the head.
The incident took place in Bulawayo’s Phelandaba West suburb around 4 PM.
<a href="https://cite.org.zw/police-fatally-shoot-unarmed-fleeing-man-in-the-head/">CITE</a> reported eyewitnesses as saying the now-deceased had an altercation with his wife who resides in Cowdray Park.
The woman reported the matter to the police and the police tracked down Dube to Phelandaba West where he was said to be visiting a friend intending to arrest him.
Assistant Inspector Zimbeva, who was armed, attempted to arrest Dube but he reportedly fled.
Zimbeva then reportedly opened fire and shot Dube in the back of his head.
Eyewitnesses said Dube staggered a few metres and collapsed next to a pile of bricks at a house under construction.
An ambulance was immediately summoned and Dube was pronounced dead at the scene.
ZRP national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident saying investigations were underway. He said:

We are conducting investigations into the incident. We are told he was trying to effect an arrest then suddenly there was a shootout.
That is why I am saying we are conducting investigations with a view to finding the full circumstances behind the unfortunate incident.

Unarmed Domestic Violence Suspect Shot Dead While Fleeing Arrest

A 27-year-old man from Bulawayo was fined $30 000 for assaulting his wife as punishment for being greeted by another man while she was on her way to church.
The accused, Daniel Ncube from Njube suburb recently appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Shepherd Mjanja charged with physical abuse as defined in Section 3 (1) (a) as read with Section 4 of the Domestic Violence Act Chapter 5:16.
Ncube pleaded guilty to the charge and the magistrate ordered him to pay a fine of $30 000 or spend 60 days in prison.
Allegations were that on 25 November 2022 and at around 6 PM, Kwazinkosi Nkomazana (20) was on her way to church when she met her husband who was coming from the bar.
It was further alleged that when the couple met, Nkomazana was greeted by another man and that angered Ncube.
Nkomazana explained to her husband that there was nothing going on between her and the man but Ncube became violent and assaulted her with fists on the head.
She fled and sought refuge at a nearby house.
Ncube allegedly followed his wife and hit her again with fists and open hands several times all over her body.
The owner of the house then summoned members of the Neighborhood Watch Committee who came to apprehend Ncube.

Man Assaults Wife For Being Greeted By Another mMan

A man from Zhombe, Midlands Province, was seriously injured after he was scalded with hot cooking oil by his wife who accused him of infidelity.
ZRP spokesperson in Midlands Province, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the incident, saying investigations into the matter were underway. He said:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a case of attempted murder where a Zhombe man was scalded with boiling cooking oil by his wife over allegations of infidelity.
</blockquote>
The man, Taurai Hlala, was in the company of his wife Sobrine Muzioni, in the early hours of Sunday, and the couple was listening to music on a cellphone.
Suddenly, audio of a female voice started playing on the phone and a misunderstanding arose between the two. Said Mahoko:

The suspect is said to have gone to the kitchen where she boiled cooking oil and poured it on the complainant, resulting in him sustaining serious injuries.
</blockquote>
Hlala was rushed to Kwekwe District Hospital where he was further referred to Sally Mugabe Hospital, where he is admitted, in a serious condition. Added Inspector Mahoko:

Investigations are still underway and the suspect is still at large.
We urge members of the public to consider dialogue when misunderstandings arise than resorting to violence.
We are also appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect to approach the nearest police station.

Wife Scalds Hubby With Cooking Oil Over WhatsApp Voice Note

A 25-year-old man from Kwekwe was on Sunday night stabbed to death by an unknown man suspected to be his ex-wife’s boyfriend.
Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the now deceased Gilbert Foya was beating his ex-wife Chipo Phiri at Mbizo Shopping Centre when an unknown man charged at him before stabbing him with a knife all over the body.
Mahoko told <a href="https://www.herald.co.zw/kwekwe-man-stabbed-to-death-for-beating-wife-in-public/">The Herald</a> on Monday:

Foya fell to the ground and the suspect got into a Honda Fit car which was parked and drove away.
Foya was taken to the hospital by the police who attended the scene but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

A 25-year-old Man Stabbed To Death By Suspected Ex-wife’s Boyfriend

A 29-year-old man from Bulawayo was arrested for murder after he allegedly ran over his wife with a truck during a domestic dispute.
Police said Tendai Tigere Gondo allegedly killed his wife, Sanele Ndlovu (21) along Chaplain Road in Kumalo last Friday.
After the incident, Gondo is reported to have stage-managed a hit-and-run accident and made a false report to ZRP Bulawayo traffic.
In an unrelated incident, Police in Mazowe are looking for several suspects in connection with the murder of a member of a rival group while illegally mining gold at Jumbo Mine. Police said in a statement:

Police in Mazowe are investigating a case of murder which occurred on 17/09/22 at Jumbo Mine Mazowe.
The victim, only identified as Avon, was stabbed to death with an unidentified sharp object on the thigh by members of a rival group while illegally mining gold.
Some of the suspects were only identified as Black, Prosper, Madhinda, Morgan, Ever and Sistone. Anyone with information to contact any nearest Police Station.

Man Runs Over Wife With A Truck In Domestic Dispute

A 50-year-old man from Cowdray Park, Bulawayo was recently fined ZWL$24 000 by a magistrate for assaulting his wife, accusing her of infidelity and denying him sex.
Evans Farai Chitanda (50), who is employed as a general hand at Dominican Convent School, appeared before magistrate Shepherd Mjanja on Tuesday, facing one count of domestic violence.
Mnjanja warned Chitanda to desist from the conduct of violence in future and fined Chitando ZWL$24 000.
Prosecuting, Tafara Dzimbanete said on 11 September, Chitanda arrived home from work and began accusing his wife, Mary Chikumba (44) of infidelity.
Dzimbanhete assaulted Chikumba once with a fist on the cheek while further accusing her of denying him his conjugal rights.

Man (50) Assaults Wife For Denying Him Sex, Fined Z$24 000

Police in Harare have arrested two Hopley brothers who stripped a man naked and viciously attacked him using a machete.
Blessing Gurure and his younger brother Tapiwa (23) attacked William Karumbidza (27), who is well known at Gazaland, Highfield, after they caught him in bed with Blessing’s estranged wife, Tesla Chirukamure, after a tip-off.
William, of Glen Norah, sustained a deep cut on his forehead and Tesla suffered two cuts on her left thigh. Both were rushed to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Harare Province, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the arrest. He said:

Police are investigating an attempted murder case involving two men believed to be artisanal minors, who attacked a Glen Norah man.
Circumstances were that one of the suspects found the complainant sleeping with his wife at around 1 am in Hopley.
</blockquote>
A neighbour who spoke to H-Metro on condition of anonymity said the community saved William from being set on fire by Blessing in anger. Said the neighbour:

William will never set foot in Hopley or entertain sex workers again, considering the way he was attacked.
Tesla’s husband ruthlessly attacked him and did not want to be restrained.
He tied William’s hands and legs with a rope used to draw water from the well and sliced his leg and forehead with a machete.
We engaged people, who were partying in the neighbourhood, to help us save William from being set on fire.
They pulled him off the bed naked, placed him outside the house and covered him with blankets.
They asked him to choose between being set on fire or being thrown into the well.
However, some men disarmed Tesla’s husband and saved William and Tesla’s lives.

William said Tesla had told her that she had separated from her husband and for the past four months he never saw any man at the house.
Tesla said she separated from Blessing after he started cheating on her in Mazowe and decided to return to their rented house in Hopley. She said:

He started cheating on me and I confronted him, and he threatened to kill me.
I decided to return to our rented house in Hopley where I invited William for quality time.
Blessing and his younger brother, Tapiwa, came while we were watching television in bed and broke down the door and attacked us with a machete.
I escaped and met some men, who looked like robbers, after midnight and begged them for help.
They saw the way I was bleeding and the wounds and accompanied me back to the house.
They attacked Blessing and Tapiwa with stones until other people came and helped to rescue William from further attacks.
Two of these guys took William’s US$80 and our two cellphones and a gas tank, as compensation for saving us from Blessing and Tapiwa’s attacks.
I could not argue with them since I suspected them to be robbers and they had rescued us.

Cheating Wife, Boyfriend Saved From Violent Hubby By Robbers

An MDC-T councillor has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after he fractured his wife’s back, accusing him of being a bad cook.
Tawanda Magidi (47), the Mkoba suburb Ward 16 councillor in Gweru, assaulted his wife with a garden pick tool handle several times and fractured her back.
Giving evidence in court, Magidi’s wife, Vongai Muchaneta (33) said that she was assaulted while in the middle of cooking a meal for Magidi. She said:

He brought some meat and when I was in the middle of cooking it, he started shouting at me accusing me of being a bad wife and a bad cook.
He then slapped me on both cheeks and picked a pick handle and struck me several times on my back.
The following morning, I fled to my rural home in Bikita where my relatives took me to hospital.
I was told by the doctor that I had suffered a fracture on my backbone.

Magidi also allegedly assaulted his wife with open hands twice on both cheeks.
The incident occurred on 8 December 2021 at around 9 PM.
After the assault, Muchaneta left Gweru for her rural home area in Bikita and was then taken to hospital, where a doctor observed that she had suffered a fractured backbone.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Magidi.
Magidi, who resides in Mkoba 18, Gweru, pleaded not guilty to the charge of physical abuse.
He was, however, convicted by magistrate Progress Murandu after a full trial.
He was sentenced to 12 months in prison but six months of the sentence were suspended on condition of good behaviour.
Magidi will spend six months at WhaWha prison.
He has, however, initiated an appeal process against his conviction and sentence.

MDC-T Councillor Fractures Wife's Back For Being A Bad Cook

Former Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudede has been hauled before a magistrate on allegations of assaulting his daughter-in-law when she had a quarrel with her husband, Mudede’s son, last month.
Mudede pleaded not guilty to the charges when he appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi, who remanded him out of custody to 12 January for trial.
Mudede’s son, Tawanda Mudede, is also separately appearing before the same court on allegations of assaulting his wife, Michelle Masawi.
Allegations are that on 22 November at around 6 pm, Tawanda and his wife visited Mudede at his house in Borrowdale.
Upon arrival, Tawanda called his wife into his room and closed the door from the inside, the court heard.
The wife asked Twanda why he had closed the door and he replied that she was not leaving his father’s place for Chitungwiza.
A misunderstanding arose between the two, whereupon Tawanda assaulted his wife with a broomstick.
It is alleged that Masawi managed to leave the room and ran to their car which was parked outside the gate.
Tawanda reportedly followed his wife and entered into the car where he also allegedly continued assaulting her.
Masawi then called and Mudede rushed to the scene.
But instead of restraining his son, Tobaiwa Mudede allegedly slapped his daughter-in-law in the face.
Masawi reported the matter to the police leading to the duo’s arrest.

A 35-year-old Harare woman, Leoba Muzondo fatally struck her husband Farai Tsatse (39) with a metal hoe during an altercation over infidelity issues.
According to the police, Tsatse confronted his wife around 10 PM on Saturday night, accusing her of cheating.
Tsatse reportedly picked up a half brick and threw it at Muzondo but missed her. Muzondo then struck her husband with a metal hoe once on the back of the head in retaliation.
Tsatse collapsed and was rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals where he was declared dead upon admission. ZRP posted on their Twitter page:

Police in Harare are investigating a murder case that occurred on 18/12/21 at 2200 hours. The victim, Farai Tsatse (39) had an altercation with his wife, Leoba Muzondo (35) over infidelity issues.

In a related case, police are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Emmely Ndaradze of 5908 New Cannan, Highfield, Harare.
Ndaradze allegedly left a four-year-old minor asleep in a room with a burning candle.
Police said at 1.30 AM, neighbours were awakened by the smell of smoke and found the victim suffocating as the room was on fire.
The minor sadly later passed on at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital in Harare.

"Cheating" Wife Kills Hubby With A Metal Hoe

A South African-based Zimbabwean woman who admitted to having killed her husband, confessed to the crime years later because, according to her, his ghost was haunting her and giving her sleepless nights.
Nancy Majonhi reportedly murdered his husband, chopped up his body and threw the pieces in three pit latrines.
According to Nancy’s brother, Andrew Majonhi, when his sister told the entire family what she did and how she could not sleep because her husband’s ghost was haunting her, they thought she has lost her mind.
Previously Majonhi told everyone, and the police, that her husband, Prosper Chipungare, 44, had gone missing in July 2015.
However, in January this year, she confessed to her family back in Zimbabwe that she had killed her husband. Said, Andrew:

She claimed that Chipungare was haunting her and that his ghost was giving her sleepless nights.
She wanted people to know the truth. She wanted the family to know how she killed her husband.
She was battling to sleep for four years. This compelled her to first confess to her children, who are working in Cape Town, in December. Later that month, she travelled to Zimbabwe, where she told our mother about what she did.
She said she killed Chipungare after they argued over money. Nancy claimed that she confronted Chipungare about his misuse of family finances. She became irate and killed him.
She said her husband was forcing her to confess to killing him in order to find peace.
We thought that she was mad because, in 2015, she lied to us, saying her husband was missing.
Her revelation has shocked all of us back home and in South Africa. We then decided that we were going to take her back to South Africa to confess to the police for her wrongdoings.

She thoroughly cleaned the crime scene, then went to the Sun City police station to report Chipungare missing.
She then packed her bags and returned to Zimbabwe.
Nancy could have confessed to the police in January 2021 – but, due to COVID-19 regulations, she could not travel back to South Africa from Zimbabwe.
Nancy who faces a charge of murder appeared at the Mogwase Magistrate’s Court for a bail application on Thursday.
However, her matter was postponed to 21 September.

A man from Mutare’s Sakubva suburb was on Monday fined $8 000 for bashing his girlfriend after he saw her with another lover.
Valentine Sachikonye (29) could not accept seeing her girlfriend Priscillah Mudimu (27) in the company of her new suitor only identified as Max and assaulted her.
Sachikonye was found guilty of contravening Section 3 (1) (a) as read with Section (4) (1) of the Domestic Violence Act, Chapter 5:16 (Physical abuse) when he appeared before Mutare magistrate, Perseverance Makhala.
Makhala ordered him to pay an $8 000 fine or spend 20 days in prison.
Prosecuting, Chris Munyuku said last week on Friday, Sachikonye approached Mudimu who was with her boyfriend known as Max and started harassing her.
Sachikonye assaulted Mudimu with fists on the face several times, accusing her of being a cheat.

Man Fined $8 000 For Beating Up Girlfriend

A 75-year-old man from the Whunga area in Beitbridge West hacked his live-in girlified (57) to death with a machete and an axe following an argument before hanging himself on a tree.
Sitoboli Maluko killed the woman, Violet Ncube as his 16-year-old stepson watched in horror on Monday last week.
Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo, the police officer commanding Beitbridge district, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
Nyongo said the couple’s bodies were taken to the Beitbridge district mortuary pending post-mortem. He said:
<blockquote>So far, we have established that on April 5 around 0000 hours midnight, Ncube and Maluko had a heated argument over an unknown matter in their bedroom.
On the same date at around 0930 hours, Maluko and Ncube along with his stepson (16) drove their donkey-drawn cart to Sebasa Irrigation Scheme. The accused person had a machete and an axe in the scotch cart.</blockquote>
When they had travelled for about 5 km from their homestead, Maluko suddenly attacked Ncube with a machete and she started running away.
He, however, followed Ncube in hot pursuit and struck the woman on the right knee and she fell down.
Chief Supt Nyongo said Maluko chopped off Ncube’s left palm inflicting a deep cut on the right wrist and right side of the neck with an axe, adding:
<blockquote>After realising she was motionless, he collected his axe and machete from the crime scene. He went on to hang himself from a nearby tree.</blockquote>
The boy, who had been watching the horror unfold while his stepfather attacked his mother, later gained strength and returned to the village to inform his sister who then made a report to the police.
Reports indicate that Maluko and Ncube started cohabiting at the woman’s homestead as husband and wife in January this year.

An enraged 88-year-old Mutoko woman last week struck her 99-year-old husband who later died due to the injury he sustained during the attack after he refused to help her with household chores, ZTN reports.
99 year old Saidi Daiton was struck by bricks by Enesia Chivhinge after he reportedly refused to help her carry some cowpeas from their field. The incident occurred at Tamuka village in Mutoko on Thursday.
The Incident was confirmed by Mashonaland East Provincial Spokesperson Tendai Mwanza who said:
<blockquote>Police in Mutoko have arrested an 88-year-old woman after she allegedly hit her 99 year old husband with some pieces of bricks leading to his death a few days later.
The two reportedly had a misunderstanding after the now deceased allegedly refused to help the accused to ferry cow peas from their field to their home.
This is believed to have not gone down well with the accused who allegedly picked up some farm brick pieces and struck Saidi Daiton several times on the left hand and both legs.</blockquote>
An informant Tafadzwa Chivhinge told the police that when he got home that day, the now-deceased told him he had been attacked by his wife and Chivhinde after inspecting his injuries told him to seek medical attention. Dalton’s condition is said to have deteriorated 2 days later and when he was rushed to a nearby clinic he was pronounced dead on arrival according to Inspector Mwanza:
<blockquote>The informant hired a motor vehicle to ferry him to Nzira Clinic but Saidi Daiton unfortunately passed away on the way at around 1800 hours. The informant made a report at ZRP Mutoko on 21 March 2021 at around 0700 hours leading the police to attend. The accused was arrested and detained at ZRP Mutoko.
The body was ferried to Murewa Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem. It is saddening to note that the couple got involved in domestic violence at such ages. People should understand the need to maintain peace with each other even in times of misunderstandings.</blockquote>

It is not clear who recorded the video or the identity of the man and his victim, who are evidently a man and his wife since the person recording the incident calls them “kule” (uncle) and “mbuya” (the wife to one’s uncle).
Apparently, the dispute has to do with a missing Sim card and a certain phone number.

Melody Mashonga (25), from Victoria Ranch in Masvingo, was slapped with a wholly suspended three-year jail sentence after she poured hot cooking oil on her boyfriend, Emmanuel Cheure (35).
Mashonga was handed the sentence recently at Masvingo Magistrates Court by Magistrate Bishard Chineka.
She told the court that she poured hot cooking oil on Cheure because they were having problems in their relationship and she was frustrated by Cheure’s responses.
The incident occurred in Victoria Ranch at Mashonga’s house after Cheure refused to eat a meal she had offered him saying the food was rotten and was producing a pungent smell. Appearing for the State, Nixon Chamisa said:
<blockquote>The accused then went outside the house, took a pot filled with hot cooking oil and poured it on Cheure who sustained severe burns on the neck, chest, abdomen and private parts.</blockquote>
Cheure then ran outside the house asking for help and was rushed to Masvingo General Hospital by well-wishers. A Police report was made leading to Mashonga’s arrest.

Woman Pours Hot Cooking Oil On Boyfriend's Privates

A Goromonzi man was left nursing severe burns on his face, abdomen and private parts after his wife poured hot cooking oil on him following a domestic misunderstanding.
According to a statement by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the man was scalded with the cooking oil on Sunday after he “drank” US$5.00 that he had been given by his wife to buy meat. The statement read:
<blockquote>In Goromonzi, on 13/9/20 a man (23) sustained severe burns when his wife poured cooking oil on his face, abdomen and private parts.
The man had been given US$5.00 to buy some meat but returned home drunk, without the meat which precipitated the altercation and subsequent assault.</blockquote>
Police also expressed concern over murder cases involving people drinking beer in violation of the coronavirus lockdown. The ZRP said in another crime update:
<blockquote>The ZRP is concerned with murder cases emanating from beer-drinking binges during this COVID-19 national lock-down period.
In Tshlolotsho, a 32-year-old man stabbed his uncle (45) on 14/9/20 after a misunderstanding over music that was being played while drinking beer.
The man also stabbed another man who had intervened to stop the brawl. The uncle died on 16/9/20 whilst admitted at Mpilo Hospital while the other man is admitted in a stable condition.
In Mvurwi, at a nightclub, an unknown male adult was stabbed on the right ankle after a misunderstanding on 16/9/20 and he died on admission at Suoguru Clinic.</blockquote>

Katsvairo was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife who was 6 months pregnant resulting in her miscarriage.
Mbare Provincial Magistrate Stanford Mambanje charged the 29-year-old with physical abuse before granting him $300 bail and remanded to November 29 for his trial.
Katsvairo had a misunderstanding with his wife, Sandra Sadza on November 2 after she went out without telling him which incensed the footballer resulting in the domestic violence incident.
As a result of the assault, Sandra was ferried to <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Harare_Central_Hospital" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Harare Hospital</a> where she is currently admitted.

Former Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Lazarus Dokora, has filed a domestic violence charge against his ex-wife, 31-year-old Mercy Hanyani.
Dokora, who is the complainant, was on Monday slapped with a warrant of arrest by Magistrate Joseph Mundondo after he failed to appear in court to testify on allegations of domestic violence.
The 61-year-old University of Zimbabwe lecturer appeared before magistrate Mundondo to withdraw the charges against his ex-wife who is a teacher at Vainona High school.
Both Dokora and Hanyani reside at house number 2 Leopard Close in Borrowdale West, though the former claims that the latter is his ex-wife.
On August 5 2019, Hanyani reportedly caused commotion after she attempted to open the door to the maid’s house with an unknown object. The maid, Gamuchirai, is also Dokora’s niece.
At several occasions, Hanyani also caused a lot of disturbances such as spilling a pot of relish on an open fire and depriving other dependants of food.

'Jealous' Linda Masarira Husband Apologises For Beating Her Up {Full Thread}

A well-known Gweru businessman, James Brain Zijena was nabbed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) after he allegedly shot and deflated his wife’s car tyres.
The wife, Lucia Tendai Zijena had travelled to Shurugwi. Zijena (60) suspected that she was involved in an adulterous affair.
Part of a statement released by the police says:
<blockquote>On 8 August 2019 and at around 11 am, the accused person (Zijena) followed his wife, Lucia Tendai Zijena from Gweru to Shurugwi after he suspected her of having extramarital activities.
While in Shurugwi, Mrs Zijena who was driving a white Toyota Corolla, parked her car at Zimasco Shurugwi parking bay before she locked the doors and went to a nearby bus stop.</blockquote>
Police said that after a couple of minutes, Mrs Zijena was then picked up by a black Audi vehicle, which was being driven by an unknown man.
The duo is said to have driven in the direction of Gweru.

According to the source Enzo is a victim of constant abuse. Said the source:

Former president Robert Mugabe is reported to have been a victim of domestic violence, with his wife, former first lady Grace Mugabe being the perpetrator. According to private publication, the Daily News, several aides and former aides to the former first family confirmed the matter.
Some of the sources who spoke to The Daily News On Sunday said,
<blockquote>Gushungo (Mugabe) was in serious trouble from Amai (Grace) for many years, and at one time one of his children (name supplied but withheld) was even forced by the circumstances to approach General … (name of the retired top securocrat supplied but withheld) who is distantly related to the family, to tell him that the former president was being badly beaten and abused by his wife…The situation was so bad that there was even a serious consideration by the military top brass to take the then president, as their commander-in-chief at the time, to the safety of Tongogara Barracks since he was no longer safe at home.</blockquote>
Another aide said,
<blockquote>I don’t want to dwell on intimate details of the former first family ’s personal lives, but it is common cause that the former president was definitely no longer in charge of the country when Operation Restore Legacy happened…Cabinet appointments and sackings, for example, were now being made elsewhere, which is why, as you may remember, it later came out that the former president couldn’t even remember firing President Mnangagwa when the two men spoke on the phone at the time.</blockquote>

According to statistics released by the Zimbabwe Vulnerability Assessment Committee (ZimVAC) Rural Livelihood Assessment of 2017 on domestic violence 20% of men who were raped in the country’s rural provinces were violated by female relatives while 24% of women were also raped by their male relatives.
Masvingo is the only province which did not record any sexual assault case against men by female relatives. Manicaland recorded the highest number of the sexual violence cases against women at 1,6 percent while Mashonaland Central had the highest number for men at 1 percent. Matabeleland South had the least sexual assaults at 0,2 percent. 35,8 percent of the females and 19 percent of the males have experienced spousal abuse.
